how do I work out where the tap is to let water out/into the water system to raise the pressure on our boiler?

what identifies that tap?

I can't see it anywhere. it isn't marked in any way.

umm no idea just been shown on all of mine, worth trying the manufacturer website? mine is hexagonal shape with flathead screwdriver slots

catsofa · 25/09/2014 00:48

Look up the make of boiler on google? Mine is a little black lever on one of the pipes going into the bottom of the boiler.

RedRideMeGood · 25/09/2014 00:57

How old is the boiler and have you got a photo?

trackrBird · 25/09/2014 01:04

I would do some googling.
We have a braided pipe under the boiler. AKAIK that's the filling loop. There are a couple of little black levers attached to that, and that's how we re-pressurise.
If in doubt, and if googling doesn't help, better speak to a plumber

Google the boiler/model no. You should be able to find an instruction manual online.

Our boiler has a plastic key which you insert somewhere into the control panel (DH did it!). Mind you, we ended up having to buy one off eBay because the plumber who fitted the sodding thing took it with him...

EBearhug · 25/09/2014 07:08

Google.

Mine is under the boiler, towards the back, but I had to look at a manual to know which pipe with a tap I actually needed.

There are two types of filling loop. They are either an integral part of the boiler or fitted somewhere else on the system pipework.

What model do you have ?

If fitted on the pipework the usual places are directly under the boiler. If you follow the line of the pipes they are also found within kitchen cupboards.

Take a photo, let's try and find it. Smile

mines a tiny small grey square turnable knob thing- under the boiler, where the plastic key is, but dont use the key its the small knob as decribed above mines a worcester bosch- and I ts really simple although Dp doesnt want to learn!!!

Belated thanks!
The plumber found it, it had no tap which is why I was flummoxed, he brought the pressure back up using a spanner but the system hasn't started working.... it must be something else. He only popped in and doesn't do boilers... ; (.
Appreciate all your help.
