I am not hopeful as it has been washed, and vanished I think, already and it faded a minuscule amount but obviously I would like it all gone as much as possible.

I have vanish spray, ariel stain remover and vanish liquid in-wash stain remover.

Soak in coca cola for a few hours. then wash with a bio washing powder on a really hot temperature, then hang out to dry in the sun.

Scissors.

Sorry, not helpful, but I have given up on marker pen.

I will have scissors as my plan B and try coke first. It has got to be worth a try and coke is cheaper than buying a new one. Thanks!

Maybe try methylated spirits. Dab on, soak up with a cloth or kitchen roll as stain will disperse. Wash with bio powder after.

Vodka. Or white spirit. Basically you need an organic solvent. Depending on how bad it is I'd just make the child wear the shirt as is because it's only going to happen again.

Different child who has managed never to draw on himself in five years of going to school so worth the effort of getting it off as he will be fine. It is his sisters PE top that has the pen on. I will try tomorrow. No time today as very busy all day.

Thanks all.

My DD uses white board pens at school and comes home covered! Grrrr

I tried something new I read about on one of her summer dresses which worked reasonably well.

Put an old towel underneath the fabric. Spray with hairspray and rub with a clean cloth. The ink comes out in the towel underneath so keep moving to a new bit of towel.

Flash with bleach spray - but probably only if you have white polo shirts!

Metellaestinhortobibit · 24/09/2014 22:27

Saturate with hairspray and rub with a wipe

some sort of alcohol or solvent I think

I have had a bit of success with IPA (isopropyl alcohol) I think you can get it at Maplin as it's used as an electronic cleaner. Soak and dab then wash with detergent straight away.

I just don't care now though. No SATs score on cleanliness of T shirts. If school are remotely bothered they should use washable pens.

Watching DS2 with a pen I realise how he gets so dirty - he picks up the pen in the middle, then just holds the tip on his tummy as he slides fingers down to the right place. Dots everywhere!

pigleychez _ I am trying your suggestion. The mark looked black but now looks purple. Eek.
