This year will be the first Xmas that we are gonna spend together as a family - me, hubby and Damian (3), we normally spend the day at my mums - I'd like to create a special day with our own traditions and was wondering whether you have a special traditions for the day xx

I go to Church although last year was very disappointed as I went on my own - DH doesn't do church and MIL who was going to come didn't feel up to it. There was no choir or any atmosphere to speak off. With my family church is a big part of the day followed by all the neighbours around for mulled wine and mince pies!

Oh Greensleeves I love your snowman tradition. I think it might be copied from now on in the nogoes household .

Smoked salmon and toast washed down with Champagne for breakfast - not the dds though

My mum did this for me and my brother and we're doing the same. Every year dd chooses a bauble for the tree - it started with her porcelain one with her name on and the year of her 1st Christmas. When she leaves home I will give her her baubles in a nice box and she'll have her own set to start her tree with.

Does losing my temper, drinking too much, and fantasising in secret about escaping on my own to an exotic tropical destination count? I do it every year...
