Atm mine comes to do my windows every month. We had to wait 6 months to find a window cleaner as they were all so busy when we moved in last year. Dh has today decided we don't need them cleaning every month and that every other month is more than enough. So as he was in today when window cleaner called he has ended up pissing him off as window cleaner was trying to explain he won't do every other month as he has a waiting list of people.

So dh paid him and told him not to come back and that we'll find someone alse. Grrr.

Ooh NdeP there was some hoohar recently about H&S legislation introduced ,which meant that scaffolding was needed for jobs over 10 feet or so. Window cleaners at your house would be affected then wouldn't they?
Mine charges 7 quid every other month but does my conservatory as well which is a good size.

Yes, our top floor is considerably higher up than 10ft. He just has a little ladder and a rag ! He's not exactly a big business guy. If we paid our old window cleaner to do this house it'd cost us closer to £25-£30, I reckon. That's if he'd do it at all.

Just out of interest, what would happen if he fell and did himself a serious injury (or died) whilst on my property ? Would I be liable for anything ?

Gosh I don't know!
I'd imagine he'd have to have some form of professional indemnity insurance.

Yes there is a new legislation where they can't use ladders anymore, ours uses a long pole with a pipe that pumps distilled water through!

Mine comes about once a month and we pay £1 per window so £8 in total.
