Cleaning internal ceiling glazing of a smoker's conservatory- what to use?

My DM, 80, is a heavy smoker but wants me to wash the internal glass, especially the ceiling of her 6 year old conservatory prior to the fitting of ceiling blinds.

For mine, I use a combination of warm water, detergent and vinegar which I sponge on, then 'blade' off, then finish with newspaper but I suspect that won't cut it with nicotine stains will it? I am wondering about sugar soap.

What do you think? Apart from 'Won't the blinds look manky in a year's time, too?',..... Confused...

I would use sugar soap.

I agree that sugar soap will probably work best to dissolve the tar.

definitely sugar soap. You will get FILTHY doing this so dress accordingly!

and yes, the blinds will be wrecked too.
