Can I get curry stains out of DHs suit trousers?

Poor DH dropped a whole pouch of pre prepared madras sauce in the floor and its splattered all over his new suit trousers.
Now what?
Is there any hope of removing it effectively?

Any experts please share your tips.

Are they washable? If so wash as normal then hang them in bright sunlight - it's like a little miracle but the stain will disappear in a few hours.

No they are dry clean only ( and quite expensive!) sadly which makes it all the worse!

Sunlight might still work without washing if it's a yellow turmeric stain.

take them to a good dry-cleaners, ask if they have a stain-removal service, tell them exactly what the stain is. Don't wash or use home made remedies before taking them in.

Yep, tell him to ask his dry cleaners.

DramaAlpaca · 06/04/2014 15:22

I'd do exactly what PigletJohn said.

Why can't DH tackle his own stains?

Liveinthepresent · 07/04/2014 15:16

Thanks for replies all - haven't had much success with dry cleaners in the past but think you are right it's best not to try home remedy if they can help. I can't see the sunlight thing being enough - it's big greasy splodges.

Quejica he can and he probably will take them to the dry cleaners all by himself if I don't offer to drop them in on my way to work - he just asked me to ask the experts on here for him. Grin
