Any swift advice on when to get icecream out of ice cream maker?

Just trying out new Christmas present. Instructions says to transfer ice cream to plastic tub for storing, but if you leave too long, surely the paddle will get stuck.
Help please!!! - Its looking pretty thick already

OK, should have thought about this BEFORE it was nearly time to take the ice cream out!
Took it out of the machine when it had a sort of "firm Mr Whippy" texture- it's now ben transferred to plastic tub in freezer, hop it won't crystallise.
Tips still welcome if anyone has any experience

with ours you turn the paddle on first then add mixture. leave turning for 20-30mubs then tip into plastic tub removing the paddle too!

Firm mr whippy texture will be fine. drools at thought of freshly churned ice cream What flavour is it Pist??
