Anyone fancy one of those quick tidy ups - 30 minutes to do what we can?

DH will be home in about an hour and a half. I've been out with dds all day and the breakfast dishes are still sat in the kitchen, none of the beds have been made. In fact, the place is a tip.

I need motivation to get these place looking respectable before dh gets back. I am worn out as dds and I have been walking all day - went on a woodland walk at Kingston Lacy House. Feet are killing me and I'm hot and tired.

Anyone going to join me for a quick clean up? See you back here at 5 o'clock.

Hi I'm at work reading this but I thought it was nice you can be bothered to tidy up before your DH gets home. It's nice to care that the house is a nice place to come home to after a day at work. Well done for whatever you got done. Hope you have started now and not sat waiting for a reply !!!

Yeah good for you sparkler. You've asked for motivation but you've already got it. Sounds like you've had a nice day with your children too!

Mercy · 26/07/2006 16:45

lol, Malory - me neither, it's just too hot!

apronstrings · 26/07/2006 16:50

sparkler you don't know how happy it makes me to hear someone else runs off out and comes home to the breakfast things

Sparkler1 · 26/07/2006 17:19

yep it's hot but I feel better - dishes washed up and kitchen tidy. Beds are made. Kids about to be chucked into bath.

Ive spent 30 mins sorting clothes into piles for each of us(me and 4 dc)ready to put away. Will take hours to put in everyones draws. Job for later i think!!

apronstrings · 26/07/2006 17:39

ok - been really down today so will use this to motivate myself - going to set the timer for half an hour taht feels do-able. will be really happy if kitchen floor has been cleaned (sad monica-esque behaviour)

apronstrings · 26/07/2006 17:40

tortoise - how old are your four - I make mine do their own pile before they get in the bath - saves loads of time!!! older two help/do it for younger two

tortoise · 26/07/2006 17:58

Mine are 9,6,3 and 2. Oldest two are at their dads for few days so i thought i would do it! I jut tend to end up with piles of clothes in my room once washed and dried.then cant be bothered to put them away.

Sparkler1 · 26/07/2006 20:37

Well my quick tidy up didn't last long. Pile of washing up again from tea, toys all over the lounge. Why do we bother.
