The Duck, the dog and the persian rug

So DH couldn't quite finish the very rich fatty duck dish and kindly donated the leftovers to the dog who then threw them up on our silk Persian rug. (poor little delicate-tummied hound) Horrid stain. Then our cleaner tried to hand wash the rug. Hmm it shrank a little, unevenly of course, but the greasy stain remains. Is it recoverable? Anyone know how fatty dog-vomit stains can be safely got out of a silk rug - it is typically deep reddish coloured mostly.

Not sure, that sounds like a good title for a book! Grin

Get in touch with your local dry cleaner? I had a gabbeh rug cleaned recently, no stains though, but through the cleaners.

Yes, get it cleaned professionally.
If you give me a minute I'll find the guys we used a while back.

These guys - they were v good. London based, of course.
Hmm

Brilliant - thanks. The novel will follow! A rough ballpark idea of cost, Dingbat?

I honestly cannot remember - it was years ago.
Water stains on a small silk rug that we had stored very inexpertly Blush. They sorted it.
It was ££ but not £££ IIRC.

ok, will give them a call tomorrow and see what they reckon. The dog, the DH and the cleaner are saved for now. The duck had had it anyway
