Can I put a tv on top of an ikea trofast unit?

I am seriously pressed for space in my living room, and am considering putting a 32" flatscreen TV on top of an ikea trofast unit.

Obviously I would have to secure it somehow so kids couldn't pull it over. Don't know how though!

Do you think it would be okay to do this? I don't have either item yet so open to other suggestions but need the trofast unit as I'm going back to child minding and these units are ideal for that.

I have Trofast and the one we have is fairly tall narrow so not sure if the TV would fit and be secure. I think putting toys etc right underneath is asking for trouble!

We have ours on an expedit unit which is low and more solid. Can't you get a wall mounted tv?

I might have to mount it on the wall, but I don't really want to! Only place it could go is on chimney breast where I have a lovely big mirror that I couldn't put anywhere else and that reflects light into the room really nicely. :-/

Be careful mounting tv onto chimney breast as usually only one brick deep and may not hold-I talk from experience!

I also don't think trofast is a good idea. I don't think you should store toys underneath a tv at all-even tied just too risky. Could you get a built in cupboard?

Built in cupboards are out as I am renting.

Mirror on chimney breast is extremely heavy, takes 2 people to lift/move so think wall could hold tv.

I need a bigger house!!
