Oh no - clothes coming out of the w'machine smelling of sick

That's pretty much it really . . . I use washing powder that smells fine but when the clothes come out they smell sicky. Particularly on fleecy pjs which is pretty gross for the kids.

Do I need to clean my machine? Is there some magic I can do with vinegar and salt or some other home made remedy?

All help very gratefully received.

put plenty of bicarb in and run it on 90 degrees a couple of times

also, take the drawer out and give it a good clean, round the seal on the door etc...

fabric softener? have you done a 90 degree wash to clean it out? also clean the drawer and the bit the drawer fits into and clean round the rubber seal. you could use soda crystals or vinegar in the hot wash

Are you taking the clothes out straight away?

peggyundercrackers · 18/11/2013 20:32

ive had this a few times just recently. took the drawer out to clean it and there was a load conditioner stuck right at the back under a little ledge, it had been there so long it was hard. cleaned it all out and it seems better now, no smell when it take them out.

Thanks everyone, I do take the washing out pretty much straight away LEM. I have just given it a good clean and done a 90 degree wash and will do another tonight. I also undid the waste trap thingy and a load of dirty water poured out all over the floor.

Hopefully we won't smell of sick any more! Thank you so much for your suggestions.
