I mean the stuff looks creased to me. Has been blowing on the line all day and so I've either folded it and put it away or hung it up but am not convinced I will be able to stop myself from ironing it before it's worn.

Jeans went in the ironing basket, you can't not iron jeans can you ?

As time has gone by I have been forced to rationalise a bit.

Don't do towels, tea towels, non iron school skirt if I hang them up. Used to though.

Do iron bedlinen - that's a must for me.

Started off ironing babygrows and vests but soon stopped.

Never have ironed underwear. Even I can't see the point.

i have 5 children and a dp who wears shirts. Two of my children have double beds and my bed is superking size. All our ironing each week fills one-two blue ikea bags . A lady irons it for me - dp takes and collects it.
EVERYTHING goes in from duvet covers to muslins - some weeks its two bags sometimes one and a half - very rarely one. They are overflowing when they go.

What do i pay?

MrsBadger · 09/07/2006 19:49

pleated school skirts are easily avoided by buying a-line ones .
though there is a v neat trick we used to do where you hang up the pleated skirt damp and peg the bottom of the pleats to weight them and make them 'stay'.

the only bedlinen I will fess up to ironing is the spare bed sheet when PIL come to stay - it has a valance to hide the crap under the bed and is a pain but looks much better and I get good- DIL points.

but all bedlinen?

SenoraPostrophe · 09/07/2006 19:52

duvet covers? why would you iron those? I really don't understand that.

now shirts - they do need ironing. but happily for 8 months of the year you only have to iron the front bit. am hoping dd has a sweat shirt for a uniform instead of a proper shirt when she goes to school in the uk.

SenoraPostrophe · 09/07/2006 19:52

mrs badger - my question wuld be any bedlinen?

NotAnOtter · 09/07/2006 19:54

i pay 5 pounds a week....duvets - HAVE to be ironed!

MrsBadger · 09/07/2006 19:54

Senora that would have been my question but thought I should be honest re the Great PIL Sheet Secret!

spidermama · 09/07/2006 19:55

Bed linen. Do people seriously iron bed linen. I'd be in tears if I had to iron bed linen.

lol
I pay for my bed linen to be ironed.
White Company bedlinen and Iron Bed Company beds are my major indulgence.
Nothing like slipping into a freshly made one....

Come on, MrsBadger, you're a strong woman, be true to yourself. Stop ironing the PIL sheets. (Or at least get your DH to do it, if it's that important. They're his parents!)
