Well actually it's for my DM! I hoovered her house for her at the weekend and I have never ever ever used such a crap hoover! She wants to get a new one and has 2 dogs. It has to be an upright and also it would be great if it was from tesco as then she could up her budget by doubling her vouchers atm.

So please-what is tried and tested the best?! Thanks

Miele cat & dog. Not cheap though.

Another vote for Mile cat &dog.

ShatnersBassoon · 05/11/2013 14:25

Miele Cat & Dog gets the vote from me too. It really is excellent.

I have a Miele cat and dog cylinder which is amazing, but DM wants an upright and the only one from tesco has rubbish reviews.
She's thinking of a dyson. Does anyone have an experience of the dyson animal ones?

Does it have to be from tesco? ao.com are doing the miele upright one for £260 with free delivery, it's £329 in John Lewis.

I've had appliances off them and they are very good.

My Dyson All Floors upright is brilliant - I have 2 dogs and vacuum pretty much every other day downstairs. It picks up all the dog hair and dirt and dust which falls off the dogs. My Mum has the pet one which is very good as well. Think it has a smaller tank to collect the dirt as well as a shorter flex but has the ball thing so easier to turn and lighter. I'd buy another Dyson if anything were to happen to my existing one (we 've had it for a few years and it works just as well as new). A good vacuum cleaner is vital if you have dogs as you know.

I used to have a dyson it wasn't great, I've now a sebo it's the best! Love it, hoovering is a pleasure, really!

Oh forgot to say I've 3 Persians, a Bengal, and up until a couple of weeks a furry american cocker, I also live near trees, so lots of leaves etc walked in. I Hoover at least once a day, sometimes twice.

Used to have a Dyson upright but it was rubbish. Have a Miele cat & dog (cylinder) which is great.

Well the whippet tried her best with the Kirby but it was just too heavy. Bought her a Dyson all floors and she's much happier now. The Jack Russell does her best with a DustBuster.

Miele cat and dog here too... Show her this thread and maybe she'll give up the upright

peggyundercrackers · 05/11/2013 20:08

miele cat and dog upright - its excellent, wipes the floor with our old dyson. would never ever go back to having a dyson. we also got a 10 yr warranty with our miele when we bought it, the hose burst recently but they were very good and the part came out next day delivery.
