Has Halo sportswash been discontinued? And what could I use as an alternative?

Please and thank you.

I don't know, have never used it, but have not seen it recently.
there is this dettol laundry disinfectant, and also the normal liquid disinfectant should work (I use it for the smelly sports stuff and it works well).

goodasitgets · 26/10/2013 19:01

Napisan works

maudpringle · 26/10/2013 19:02

Mmm interesting..I couldn't find it in Tesco either.

mousmous · 26/10/2013 19:06

but nappisan bleaches clothes...

ilovepowerhoop · 26/10/2013 19:11

dettol has a wash sanitiser that should work or you could use the vanish extra hygiene powder. My local tesco had a halo wash but it wasnt marketed as a sports wash but still had anti-bacterial properties.

You can buy the halo sports wash online if thats the one you want

nothruroad · 26/10/2013 19:27

Tesco seem to have stopped stocking this at the same time as they brought out their own anti-bacterial odour stopping washing stuff. It doesn't work as well as Halo. I can still find Halo in larger Sainsbury's shops so might be worth checking there.

Mintyy · 26/10/2013 19:31

I looked for it in my local (very large) Sainsburys recently and was told they no longer stocked it. Now I find it is no longer available on Amazon. And others are saying not at Tesco.

hmmm

I won't use Milton or Napisan because I don't want to bleach these clothes. Might be persuaded to use normal disinfectant but don't know how much to use ... any ideas?

I shan't be buying the Dettol wash enhancer stuff as I boycott Dettol as a brand.

the dettol company (Reckitt Benckiser) has so many brands it's hard to avoid...

HazeltheMcWitch · 26/10/2013 19:42

Mintyy, why do you boycott Dettol?

ilovepowerhoop · 26/10/2013 20:12

they sell it here

Mintyy · 26/10/2013 20:14

Oh its just their "you must banish every single last germ from your home or you're all going to DIE" marketing tactics that annoy me, Hazel. Don't they know that bugs become more resistant to all the anti-bacterials flung at them?

OP posts:
ilovepowerhoop · 26/10/2013 20:15

or you can stock up on amazon with a 6 pack

Mintyy · 26/10/2013 20:27

Thank you ilovepowerhoop.

By the way, do you still love powerhoop? I know you have been around with that name for a while. And what is powerhoop? I am a little bit intrigued as I would love to do something about my amazingly dramatic middle aged spread.

OP posts:
ilovepowerhoop · 26/10/2013 20:31

I do still love it and was at a class on Friday. A powerhoop is a weighted hoop and can be used to hoop with and also for use as a weight for arm exercises or a used to balance for leg exercises. It has trimmed my waist and made me have to downsize by bra back size so it does work.

jazzandh · 26/10/2013 20:35

I have this......

base wash

HazeltheMcWitch · 26/10/2013 21:24

Thanks Mintyy - interesting!
I agree with you actually, but I've never thought of boycotting. Although I have never bought Dettol anything, so maybe I am already...

goodasitgets · 26/10/2013 21:56

I've used napisan on all my coloured clothes and definitely no bleaching

HollaAtMeBaby · 26/10/2013 22:07

Are we meant to use special stuff to wash sports clothes? I do tons of sport and wash all my gym kit with normal bio washing powder and nothing bad has happened yet. I thought the only no-no was fabric conditioner.

Mintyy · 26/10/2013 22:09

You gym clothes might smell grand Holla, but my dh's things do not. But then he is 18 stone and very sweaty after a work out, which I am sure you are not Flowers.

OP posts:
goodasitgets · 26/10/2013 22:27

My gym and riding stuff get vile so I soak them straight away in napisan before I wash them. Found that some fabrics seem to hold the smell in

chanie44 · 27/10/2013 18:37

I was looking for halo this weekend for the first time. I couldn't see it, but Asda has its own brand of sports wash, which has worked will.
