Freezer defrosted with food in it- smelly- how to get rid?

While away on hols, my father managed to switch off our basement freezer and didn't realise for days what the rotting smell was. Mum cleaned it out and replaced all the food but the smell is still lingering (despite me having dishwashed all moveable parts)

Any idea how to get rid of smell?

Have you tried washing with a solution of bicarb of soda? It's pretty good for removing noxious smells.

Put small bowl of bicarb inside and leave overnight, got the tip from my brother who manages a bar, they do it to all of their fridges very night to get rid of the smell of stale beer!
