personally I would hang it somewhere airy after each wearing, and try to make it your policy to have it cleaned once a year!

I am a slob!

You can get meachine washable suis in M&S. Dh washes his trousers once a week and a jacket would be dry cleaned each winter but he hardly ever wears one.

Neither I or DH has a had a suity job (haha!), so no experienced advice, but def buy more than one suit, or at least buy two pairs of trous per jacket. Hanging them up to give them a day to 'recover' between wears makes them last longer and they'll need dry cleaning less as the sweat etc (eww) has a chance to evaporate.

TBH my DH is so spill-prone that any suit would need doing every couple of weeks.

has ever had a suity job

My dh has a pale suit that he hardly ever wears. It goes to the cleaners every time he has it on because he spills stuff on it. He will be getting the washable next time - like school uniform.

depends on what they do in their job tbh, dh's suits needed doing every few weeks as they got covered in ink. he ahs been waiting for his uniform- ooh three years now - so he gave up the suits and just wears savers trousers and a black t-shirt- if they want him smart they can give him a uniform like everyone else (every time he applies he is told thay have put them on hold for the year due to budgets, but new people get them- i think they hope he'll go back to his suits as they liked the image).

always worth buying 2 pairs of trousers to each jacket as they wear out quicker than jackets but remember to get all 3 pieces cleaned together so they stay the same colour.

TheBlonde · 21/06/2006 17:35

Thanks for the 2 trousers per jacket tip
We are going shopping at the weekend for more suits

DH is also a bit of a spiller so I have a suit off once home policy so at least he doesn't get dinner on it
