More to the point why ! Just fold it into rough quarters and iron either side.

Why anyone bothers to iron bedding is absolutely beyond me...

You don't iron, it's stretched flat on the bed anyway

You don't! - the whole point is the elastic stretches it out when you put it on the bed so you don't need to have previously ironed it.

Roll it in a ball and chuck it in a cupboard.

I am so glad you all said that. Felt really stupid and lazy and useless for not being able to.

Rough folded and dumped in drawer. Phew! :)
