Roll up, roll up to this special birthday month for the fledglings...

We are going to attempt to keep the dc happy, whilst flying. No mean feat in the month of holidays and adventures.

Rule 1. yes even in a birthday month we have rules
It is not about perfection. A little is enough, no really.
Rule 2.
You are aloud to spend time doing fun things, don't regret them or feel guilty.
Rule 3. This one is a fat fairy rule.
you are never behind, jump in where you are

So newbies if you are reading this you are probably thinking wtf?! This is a wonderful system designed by the fly lady. in days gone olde one fledgling had a dream about the fly lady in which she was a fat fairy, thus the thread nickname fat fairy was born. Just so we don't confuse you like Wink
Anyhows, this month it is Bitchy's turn to lead, and perhaps this should come with a warning. She has her own unique style of leading but don't let that scare you off, the fledglings are luffsly and generally far more sane then the bitchy one Grin just be aware of bitchy's special brew. Terribly high in caffine and can sometimes be found in the naughty corner. Which reminds me, the naughty corner if for those who are struggling for whatever reason or those just in need of a stiff drink.

So this flying thing. It has three stages:
stage one: the babysteps. these build a routine. some of them are contriversial, and some a little wishy washy seem a little less significant. But most are really good.
Stage two: babysteps and missions one the routines are in place the missions are designed to help you tackle tasks room by room. These room by room approach is helpfully referred to as zones.
stage three: the mythical deep cleaning stage yeah lets just ignore that, none of us have got to the point where we have not only decluttered but got in control of the chaos Grin

Oh yeah CHAOS - what the fat fairy calls "Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome"

That clear as mud? good. Let's Begin....

BlueEyeshadow · 19/08/2013 21:56

Evening all.

Seem to have spent a disproportionate amount of time boy-wrangling today. Confused

DS2 had one of his nursery friends round for the first time, which was fun but caused a huge amount of over excitement.

Still, as a result have achieved a fair bit of tidying and more friends over tomorrow, including a need for their mum to see inside the dumping ground study. Shock Will have to get organised!!

Have also achieved school-shoe-shopping and online order for school jumpers. Will take DS1 to look at school trousers tomorrow. Erk.

Also planning to arrange local charity shop to take away old TV and various other bits of cluttering furniture while they're at it. :)

Grin at Bitchy's attempt to do things Fat Fairy style, esp " I like my negative voices, they swear at crazy people !"

Hope party prep goes well Ellie - Bitchy's strategy seems sound re paddling pool.

BitchytheGreat · 20/08/2013 01:27

OP posts:
elliepac · 20/08/2013 08:52

Morning allSmile. Not quite such a busy day today. Friend and dc's popping in for coffee at half 9. You can tell it's the holidays because a crisis clean is not neededWinkGrin.

Then to local Wacky Warehouse to meet work friends plus their dc's who will play whilst we drink coffee.

Therefore small to do list today:-

To do:-
Washing (cleared/putaway holiday stuff just term tome back log to do but by end of week washing order will be restored)
Morning routine
Coffee morning x 2
General maintenance tidy stuff
Ds bday presents

Have a good day everyone and bitchy hope your day gets better.

BitchytheGreat · 20/08/2013 16:25

Bitchy managed to overdose of coffee and is now going to lie down in a dark room and try to recover.

elliepac · 20/08/2013 20:52

Very quiet on here today!

Had a lazy day as planned today so not much flying to report.

Starting to get jittery about GCSE Results so am going to watch crap tv to try and distract myself.

Hope everyone is OKSmile.

ToffeeWhirl · 20/08/2013 22:07

Am here, but lurking, with not much to post. Feeling a bit under the weather and no energy to Fly, so reluctant to contribute because there is nothing much to say Blush.

My good news is that DS1 is showing definite signs of improvement. I still don't know exactly what's caused it, although I'm sure CBT is playing a part. He keeps wanting to go out, which is a real contrast to before. He went to the playground three times today Shock. Cross fingers this continues as it is so good to see colour in his cheeks again.

Good luck with your students' GCSE results, ellie. It must be so worrying for you too.

Bitchy - hope you managed to catch up with yourself again today.

Am going to have an early night. Hoping to feel more energetic tomorrow.

Steamedcabbage · 20/08/2013 23:07

Sorry you are feeling below par Toffee- wishing you a speedy recovery for tomorrow x

Fingers crossed for results Ellie Top marks for early uniform organisation and gardening.

An emphatic ditto re: needing a holiday Bitchy!

Hope you survived the school trouser shop Blue. The thought of having to let one of dd's friends' parents in to our home office one day strikes fear in to my very soul ...have already survived a number of close shaves .. must get it sorted!!

Well done for getting through your list Saturn! It comes easier on some days than others I find (often feel begrudging about it too Smile)!!

The marble cake was delicious thank you Goth [dabs chocolate smears from mouth with napkin] Hope you enjoyed your golden hour while dd enjoyed her karate class.

Hope return to school not too onerous Engels!

Big feathery wing flaps to eveyrone else. Off to roost ....

GoingGoingGoth · 20/08/2013 23:15

Just popping in, late night at work, Eminen was playing in the park, so have spent most of the afternoon stood in the sport centre car park directing concert goers too where they were supposed to be, my poor sore feet.

Biked home in light rain (which was quite pleasant) to find DH had made me a Brew, run a bath, he was feeling quite smug until I asked if he'd remembered to bring the washing in! It's can be run through and hung out tomorrow.

Hope you're all ok

Steamedcabbage · 20/08/2013 23:51

Meant to say earlier ... that's really great news about your ds1 Toffee!!

Goth hope your stumps recover soon!

BitchytheGreat · 21/08/2013 07:49

ToffeeWhirl · 21/08/2013 08:17

I have a cold Sad. A proper sneezy, sniffling, headachey, aching-all-over, makes-you-fed-up sort of cold. Was going to potter round in my dressing gown, but plumber is coming round in half an hour and I have to take DS1 to his CBT appointment at 9.30. So I have downed some pills instead.

Steamedcabbage · 21/08/2013 08:55

Oh poor you Toffee that sounds miserable. Hope you get a chance to rest later in the day x

Is that ear reunited with its owner yet bitchy? I am actually deranged concerned for the sock monkey ...

Waves to Goth and everyone else! Hope you all have a good anti-procrastination day!

Well we have been up for hours (dd had appt with dermatologist at 8am - and of course we are one hour ahead of UK) and builders two doors down kindly woke us all up as usual at 5.45 am [grrrrr] Dd has to have very minor op to remove an unusual hemangioma, so what with dh, that's two ops scheduled for Sept.

So ta da:
morning routine inc s&s, rabbits, wm and dw
dermatologist appt for dd
prep for fortnightly ironing lady who in this instance will be doing 50/50 ironing/cleaning

To do:
as posted last night

Had better get cracking! Have a good day everyone!

BitchytheGreat · 21/08/2013 09:28

Finding it hard to get up and go this morning. been up two hours already and meh. I have a very small ta da list...

ta da
internet stuff - including email that I was procrastinating on.
physio exercises
make breakfast.
Drink a coffee and decide decaff is the way to go fo the rest of the day, and that these glasses give me a headache. :(

I have yet to eat breakfast or get up but then I have a good excuse, those in the house that had to get to work/appointments needed the shower first. So about now is when shower is free. But I am eating my breakfast first.
