Roll up, roll up to this special birthday month for the fledglings...

We are going to attempt to keep the dc happy, whilst flying. No mean feat in the month of holidays and adventures.

Rule 1. yes even in a birthday month we have rules
It is not about perfection. A little is enough, no really.
Rule 2.
You are aloud to spend time doing fun things, don't regret them or feel guilty.
Rule 3. This one is a fat fairy rule.
you are never behind, jump in where you are

So newbies if you are reading this you are probably thinking wtf?! This is a wonderful system designed by the fly lady. in days gone olde one fledgling had a dream about the fly lady in which she was a fat fairy, thus the thread nickname fat fairy was born. Just so we don't confuse you like Wink
Anyhows, this month it is Bitchy's turn to lead, and perhaps this should come with a warning. She has her own unique style of leading but don't let that scare you off, the fledglings are luffsly and generally far more sane then the bitchy one Grin just be aware of bitchy's special brew. Terribly high in caffine and can sometimes be found in the naughty corner. Which reminds me, the naughty corner if for those who are struggling for whatever reason or those just in need of a stiff drink.

So this flying thing. It has three stages:
stage one: the babysteps. these build a routine. some of them are contriversial, and some a little wishy washy seem a little less significant. But most are really good.
Stage two: babysteps and missions one the routines are in place the missions are designed to help you tackle tasks room by room. These room by room approach is helpfully referred to as zones.
stage three: the mythical deep cleaning stage yeah lets just ignore that, none of us have got to the point where we have not only decluttered but got in control of the chaos Grin

Oh yeah CHAOS - what the fat fairy calls "Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome"

That clear as mud? good. Let's Begin....

Let this be a lesson to us all...the fat fairy is everywhere...even in sc's bedroom.

I just actually clicked a mission link Shock. Then rapidly wished I hadn't and remembered why I don't normallyWinkGrin.

Asheth · 19/08/2013 11:05

Big waves. To everyone ! I'm back from holiday. Had a great time but ready to jump back into flying now. Today will mainly be washing and putting away all the holiday things. I will try to declutter the bedroom a bit and get the dc to keep on decluttering theirs.

BitchytheGreat · 19/08/2013 11:27

ok i suppose i should try this shit the fly lady way properly just once, but let's see how i do without folowing her, just by what is habit.

Morning routine
Make your bed
Get up and get dressed to lace-up shoes; fixing your hair and face
Look at your posted reminders in the kitchen and bathroom fuck that clutter NO!
Read your FlyLady emails Ditto
Recognize the negative voices and change them. Remember, you are FLYing now! I like my negative voices, they swear at crazy people
Put out your Hot Spots for two minutes
Five-minute Room Rescue (pick any room in the house). Set your timer and go!
Spend 15 Minutes decluttering each day. You can?t organize clutter!

Home bleurgh
Vacuum got done sat surely it doesn't need doing again yet
Dust ditto
Quick Mop ignores
Polish Mirrors and Doors got done sat morning by someone who was feeling motivated ie not me
Purge magazines/catalogs don't have any
Change Sheets did yesterday
Empty all trash cans

evening routine
Keep your sink shining
Lay out your clothes for tomorrow can't lay out clothes on clutter!
Put out your Hot Spot. It will make you happy in the morning!
Go to bed at your bedtime

Yeah never going to win any fly lady awards.

So now that pointless exercise has been undertaken I shall go back to being terrible productive in a kinda sorta maybe perhaps flying kinda way Grin

OP posts:
GoingGoingGoth · 19/08/2013 15:58

Bitchy the fact I had to google 'brother quilting foot' to identify mine, probably shows what level my quilting is at right now Grin

On the plus side have completed a 'werewolf' hat and scarf since Friday (not a matched set), just waiting for my double ended needles to arrive to get on with some paw print mittens.

Just listening to DD practice her times table, then going to enrol her at a Karate class (YIKES)

elliepac · 19/08/2013 16:00

All you lot and your sewing makes me a little Blush that I can't even sew a button on...even wundaweb is beyond meGrin.

I am doing some gardening. I fecking hate gardening but tis DS's birthday on Thursday which means lots of family visiting and in the garden. I have just discovered why one should never leave the paddling pool in the same place for a long timeBlush.

Clear the pool out and refill in same location in case of nice weather at the celebrations. Warn visitors to bring swim suits for dc. Deal with after the celebrations.

Only advice i can come up with.

OP posts:
elliepac · 19/08/2013 16:36

Genius bitchy, genius. Had gone and moved the garden furniture strategically over the spot but I think I am going with your idea.Grin

elliepac · 19/08/2013 16:37
elliepac · 19/08/2013 16:38

And the weather forecast for Thursday is sunny and warm. Cleaning the pool added to tomorrow's list.

saturn · 19/08/2013 18:32

Hi all!

Very unmotivated, been struggling with this flying malarkey since I came back from my work trip. House is a complete mess as DD birthday Saturday and presents, wrapping paper, balloons etc in every room...and to top it off someone from work is coming a 8 in the morning for a lift, so need at least downstairs clean and respectable and could do with giving car a clean as well. Better get started I suppose (begrudgingly Sad)

Ta da
Dressed to shoes (well I was this morning!)

To do
E-mails
Negative voices
2 minute hot spot
5 minute room rescue
Check calendar (probably should have done that this morning!)
Make beds (yes, I know, should have done this morning too!)
Swish and swipe
Put away everything brought home
Put clothes away/in wash
Make dinner/eat dinner
Shine sink
Lay out clothes for tomorrow
Another hot spot
15 minutes decluttering
Mission
Check calendar for tomorrow - get out anything needed
Reboot laundry
What's for dinner tomorrow night
Breakfast/lunch/fill water bottle
Shopping list
To do list
In bed by 10!

Will be back....

saturn · 19/08/2013 18:54

Ta da
Dressed to shoes
Dinner made and consumed
Veg soup defrosting for dinner tomorrow night
Clothes away/in wash

Ok I admit picked three easy ones to start with Blush. Going to take my short break anyway!
