DH woke me in a flap half an hour ago as baby DS had projectile poo-ed while having a nappy change. There is quite a lot on the carpet Sad I somehow have nothing in the cupboard like vanish or similar - is there any magic store cupboard thing I can try before the shops open? Help me MN early risers, you're my only hope!

I would get an old flat bladed knife and scrape as much poo off the carpet as possible. Then I would make a wad of kitchen towel and blot up as much poo as possible. Keep using fresh paper as soon as it gets stained.

Then I would put some dilute Fairy washing up liquid on it (test a small patch first to check the colour fastness of your carpet). Use a little soft tooth brush to work it in. Leave for 5 mins and then blot with dry kitchen towel. Then use damp kitchen towel and blot and. There are two things really, the smell and the stain.
