...and it looks brilliant!

I had read a thread on MN a while ago about machine-washing wedding dresses and had never dared to do it, but it was looking so forlorn that I decided to give it a whirl.

It is a synthetic voile/tulle dress, with a boned bodice, beading and several layers etc. It had been badly stained during a house move and frankly, when I laid it out on the floor earlier, it had looked ready for the bin!

However, a 40 degree delicate cycle wash, plus pre-wash, and two extra rinses - it is perfect! I used ecover plus a whole sachet of Ariel stain removing powder.

So, if you have a dress that you want to freshen up and nothing to lose -give it a try!

You will be putting the dry cleaners out of business Smile. I presume they charge kabillions to clean wedding dresses.
