Best way to get sick smell out of carpet?

DD had vomiting bug over weekend and unfortunately a lot of sick got on the carpet, have scrubbed and scrubbed with various cleaners but there is still a lingering smell today in her bedroom.

Anything else I can do? Carpet is still slightly damp - will the smell go when it is completely dry?

Thanks

rub in bio washing powder and leave it (might I suppose bleach it a bit but I've not had that issue)

I covered Dd's cleaned-but-still-damp-and-sicky-smelling rug with bicarb and left it to dry, then hoovered up the bicarb. Worked brilliantly.

Bicarbonate for definate.

Put it liberally on the affected areas and cover with a towel. Leave for as long as you can, then Hoover up.
