I have broken my toe , which is a wee bit sore and I can't work but it is not actually so bad that I have to lie on the sofa eating interesting snacks .

So I thought I would use my time wisely for a change .

The house is a mess , I need to do a list and stick to it .

Please feel free to pass by and give me a nudge in the right direction . And add your own as well and I will return the favour .

I need to
Change three beds
Do at least two loads of washing
Sweep downstairs
Mop downstairs
Sort out my floordrobe

There is more but that will do for now or I will get sad .

Love floordrobe, for that wonderful creativity i grant you an hour on the sofa before starting any jobs.

travellingwilbury · 12/06/2013 07:34

Well thank you very much , I probably won't get much done till after taking children to school but now I will not feel guilty about that because when I get back I will be a whizz of activity .

I am going to have breakfast soon so I don't have that excuse when I get back .

I am the queen of procrastination .

Give yourself a little treat after each task is done I'll get the washing up done, and hovering then have a cuppa, clean bathroom and landing then read the paper watch Jeremy Kyle

ZenGardener · 12/06/2013 07:40

Floordrobe!! Love it!! That describes my spare room exactly!!

I'm totally in!

Where to start though?

I will try and get the living room done today including the junk pile at the side of the sofa.

bigkidsdidit · 12/06/2013 07:43

Today I am going to put away three baskets of washing and sort the mammoth pile of paperwork and post for old tenants etc. have to get DS at 1.30 so have a bit of time :)

travellingwilbury · 12/06/2013 07:44

Yay ! I have company , I will start at 9 when I get back , first job will be to strip beds and get a wash on .

I feel productive if I can hear the machine going .

Aetae · 12/06/2013 07:45

Gah I need to do this. Trying to find some free time to sort it out!

My plan:
Approach house by type of mess, not room (eg gather all dirty clothes in one go, commence washing marathon)
Corral all "complicated" mess (eg piles of paper that need sorting one by one) into one place so less scattered
Do obvious things first that will inspire me to continue (eg totally clear kitchen work tops)
Have all cleaning products and bin bag at the ready when starting

Now I just have to carry out said plan Confused

travellingwilbury · 12/06/2013 07:57

Oh yes and I have got it into my head that I want to make scones .

No idea why but that is also on my list .

I'm 39.5 weeks pg so just having a little sit Grin

I have put the towels on to wash though so am feeling like I've achieved something at least. To go:

washing away
post sorted
maybe make some biscuits
watch the tennis if no rain :)

ZenGardener · 12/06/2013 09:05

I've done most of the living room

Still have to do the junk pile, clear the mountain of letters from nursery, wash the rug, wash the sofa cover.

If I find the will I should really wash the walls and windows too.

Bonus points?

travellingwilbury · 12/06/2013 09:25

A little sit at your stage sounds perfect bigkids , how exciting ! Are you fed up yet or enjoying your pregnancy ? Nosey sorry .

Well done Zen that is impressive .
Washing the walls ? Now that is proper cleaning .

I have stripped the beds and first load is on
Washing up is done ( including last nights )
Now I am having five mins and thinking of my next move .

Washing walls Confused is that something one does?

Enjoying this bit wilbury - finished work last week, 2yo still with the CM and no baby yet :) so all my resting and nesting can be done! DS was 15 days late so I'm not expecting anything soon.

I've just put away all the washing, hung the towels out and had some crumpets! Going to sort all the post in a minute.

travellingwilbury · 12/06/2013 09:36

I think I would rather paint a wall than wash it .

Anyway I am faffing about so going to go and get the brush out . I will have to clear the floor of crap first I suppose .

Am currently splayed out on the sofa having twagged the day off my course to fix my house!
Please someone kick me up the arse but watch the toe! and MAKE me do the following

Collect items of various descriptions from the floor of each room.
Clean bathroom
Clean kitchen
Hoover and dust everywhere
Do ALL the ironing

And FGS dye my hair!

travellingwilbury · 12/06/2013 09:50

Right , come on get moving , you can slob later without the guilt .

Get off your arse and clear that floor , grab a bin liner and chuck half of it out , that is my plan , here I go .......

I find putting things away in a cupboard helps , out of sight out of mind , of course now I have cupboard doors that don't shut
Just dusted and hoovered the living room
Yay

bananananacoconuts · 12/06/2013 10:24

Kitchen done! I'm actually embarrassed it was that easy!

Well I have made scones , because of course that was the important bit of the list ......

I have done another load of washing and I still haven't swept the floors .

And I have now made more bloody washing up .

I will sweep the floors this time and not get distracted with food .
I have also made a beef stew .
So we might live in a tip but we won't go hungry ;)
