HELP - Black eye liner crayon on cream carpet - any ideas?

I noticed last night a few specks of black on our cream carpet. Thought it was fluff so touched it and it spread. From what I can tell it is either eye liner crayon or mascara. The sort you rub or wet and it'll just expand I assume. HELP. We are renting!
Any ideas how to get it out?

I find the disinfectant toilet wipes very good at getting stains out of carpet. Take about 3 and then rub at the stain - go gently. It should come out. Good luck.

As its a waxy substance could you try greaseproof paper over it and heat up with an iron? Will that lift it out?

I was going to say exactly the same as plum, except I would use wadded kitchen roll rather than grease proof paper.

oh jesus i hope it works! is shake n vac any good at thissort of thing? Will try the greaseproof paper tip.

Oxy carpet cleaner spray

Baby wipes or child toilet wipes might work or try bicarbonate of soda added to cold water and rub on.
