I seem to have found something that prevents smelly washing machine syndrome

I've recently started to add about a tablespoonful of washing soda crystals in the washing powder drawer to boost the cheaper powder that I've been using.

The smell has now gone from the washing machine. I guess it's the washing soda. 89p a bag from Sainsburys
