I want to get rid of a bottle of vegetable oil but not sure of the best way to do this. I know you shouldn't pour it down the sink, so where......?

I take mine to the local tip.

Mix it with sharp sand in a bucket and use it to clean your garden tools.

I heard someone's good idea was (I think) to soak old bread in it and give to birds!
I pour into an old container lined with kitchen roll (when cool obviously !)

Sorry only just realised a whole bottle

Our tip has cooking oil recycling

do you have bonfires or barbies? You can soak kitchen roll in it to get them started.

good idea about bread and birds

With smaller amounts, you pour it into a tin (with kitchen roll for oil, not needed for fat) and put in the bin. If the bottle is unopened you can bin it.
