descaling rim and spout of electric kettle

vinegar works great for the inside but on the rim an the spout is thick limescale and lime scales in my tea are disgusting
I tried tipping the kettle and putting a soaked cloth over it but it's pretty persistent.

I'm bumping this because I want to know the answer. I'm too proud to ask MIL who knows everything

Try that Viakal stuff. I hear it's very good.

Orange Cilit Bang is really good for limescale

MousyMouse · 15/02/2013 21:15

but is it food safe?
or how much would you need to rinse for it to be ok?
don't want to give myself acid burn from cooking a cuppa...

Just give it a good rinse/wipe down it'll be fine (it won't leave residue you can't wash off or anything)
