Any hints for getting paraffin smell out of clothes and washing machine?

So, DH managed to spill paraffin from lamp that his parents gave him and then shoved the offending shirt in with the rest of the laundry.

I now have a load of washing which stinks of paraffin despite several washes. The washing machine also honks now and I have about 8 loads to do after being away last week.

Any ideas on getting rid of the smell? It's making me queasy now.

Don't know, but i would have thought a non-bio powder like persil, on a 90 degree service wash and a cup of washing soda if you have it, would get the machine clean.

The clothes, hang outside to air and dry. Sunshine, if any, will speed it up.

use a couple of dishwashing tablets in the machine, this will help clean it and remove the smell. Not sure what to do with the shirt.

Thanks all. Service wash with dishwasher tabs running now. I think the smell is in the rubber seal too so will wipe all that over too.

Bloody paraffin lamp - I never wanted it anyway but DH's parents seen to like to offload their old crap onto us with "you like old things." Yes, but not ALL old things.

Husband spilt Paraffin on his work clothes. I stupidly didn't look anything up on how to remove. Did a hot wash with PreWash and a stain remover.
CLothes still STINK.
have done a "clean out" Dr Beckmann wash on machine and still smelling .....

Any advice please?

Hang all the clothes outside on the line until they don't smell anymore. Doesn't matter if it rains on them, it's the being outside that does it.

I have no idea about the washing machine though!
