Does your DC's bed point into the middle of the room or run along the wall

DS2 has new single bed. I've put it down the middle of the room as that seemed normal but doesn't seem to have left him much room to play.

The room is fairly big but suddenly looks much smaller. Is it just because I'm not used to it?

Possibly yes. We have two in one room so they are alongside the walls until ds is old enough for a bunk bed.

Mine are all down the wall to free up floor space if they want to build fairy land or lego maniac whatever they have room.

lynniep · 06/11/2012 14:58

along the wall for both.

DS2's bed was pointing into the middle of the room but he moved it himself to run along the wall. And actually, has an eye for what will work that is far superior to mine! He's now got loads of floor space and has a bedside cabinet at the head of bed with his cd player and a table at the end with some books and knick-knacks. Sounds naff but looks good!

Mine both have good sized rooms, but prefer the bed against a wall (and lines with soft toys)

GooseyLoosey · 06/11/2012 14:59

Along the wall for both to give them more room to play around it as you suggest. Most important in a child's room.

AnnoyingOrange · 06/11/2012 14:59

Lined

I've moved it round. Grin

Against the wall but 2 DDs share the box room it is literally a bed size room they do have a playroom though for toys

InMySpareTime · 06/11/2012 17:08

One of each, DS side of room as it's a loft bed, DD middle of room as it has a canopy.

DorsetKnob · 06/11/2012 17:09

DD's runs down the middle and DS's goes against the wall, she has a bigger room.

Whenisitmysleepytime · 06/11/2012 17:14

Against the wall. Less chance of falling out/ losing duvet. :)

AdoraBell · 06/11/2012 17:15

Before we bought larger beds, trying to sell the house, they were along the wall. Now down the middle.

Slatternismymiddlename · 06/11/2012 18:15

Beside the wall for both my dc's. Frees up floor save but more importantly reduces the possibility of falling out by 50%!

ditavonteesed · 06/11/2012 18:16

wall for both mine and dd2's room is massive. just seems like the right place for kids beds.

InNeedOfAPennyForTheGuysBrandy · 06/11/2012 18:17

Bunk bed against the wall and their room is massive (bigger then mine).
