How to get the smell of stale sweat out of tshirt arm pits?

Sorry, I know its a bit yuch but I must know

I have very sensitive skin and everything is washed and conditioned with ecover which is great at getting the dirt off. But some tshirts still smell even after washing and tumble drying.

Is there a tip for getting rid of this smell? or is it the end of the line for these shirts?

Have you tried using biological powder, then non bio or ecover? I use non bio as a rule, but occasionally nuke everything!

Vanish do some extra hygeine stuff - in green pot - that I have to use for DHs running gear.

Wash them, then when still wet, put on a paste made of bicarb and water. Leave for 24 hours, then re-wash.

OK, I know I'm a slattern but what is the difference between biological and non biological powder?

I'm nervous to use Vanish as I really do react badly to some washing stuff, for years I just used those wash ball things but gave that up due to the state the kids get into...

I will try the bicarb and water, I cook with bicarb so I hope my skin wont react.

Right I'll stick a wash in at 60 and then do the bicarb.

You get soda crystals in tesco I suppose

Spray white vinegar on the underarms before you wash them. I've started doing it, it's great.

Any sweaty t-shirts, towels, bedding and my knickers are all done at 60 degrees. Less than that and they are not clean imho. Using fabric conditioner sometimes masks the fact they are not actually clean.

I second the white vinegar suggestion. I was worried the clothes would smell of vinegar but they smell fresh

Halo wahing powder is great for this and seems quite gentle.
