5 year old dishwasher ? Is that their lifespan ?

I have been reading loads of threads about dishwashers, most of the time it doesnt come clean.

I have followed some of the recomendations and have cleaned all the parts. I have used the cleaning products that you run on empty to clean the machine. I have used the Fairy Platinum tablets.

Is 5 years about their lifespan ?

My Smeg dishwasher is awful and has never really cleaned very well. It has improved since I changed bits of the cleaning arms.

This might sound like a daft response but I'm going there anyway.

When you load the dishwasher is full, spin both the top and bottom spray arms gently by hand and make sure they're not catching on anything. They should be able to spin freely and if they can't, the water isn't reaching everything

Rabbit, it's not daft, I had to learn that the hard way when I first got a dishwasher.

It's a very good tip, though it might not be the problem here.
