I've just spilt olive oil on my woollen carpet. How do I get this out before DH finds out and kills me?

Take off the excess with kitchen paper gently placed over the stain and pressed down, keep replacing the paper till it comes away 'clean'(did you drop a lot of the oil?) and then use the talc for "ground in oil" and brush off but always brush inwards to the centre of the stain IFYSWIM.

Thank you! I dropped a good glug and have been covering with bicarbonate of soda to absorb the excess. It's taken out the majority but I will try talc if it doesn't take all of it out.

Basic rule I thumb - you need hot water for oil stains. So I'd be getting in there once its absorbed with thee hotter damp cloth I could. Otherwise it sets. Then clean with your favourite woollen carpet cleaner.
