Spot cleaner for carpet, or for just the traffic areas, what do you use please?

My carpets are not that old so I don't really want to get them professionally cleaned. But entrance ways are looking discoloured (biscuit colour wool mix) and the odd mark. What cleaners do you find work for you and this situation please?

Please can I park on your thread as need to know exactly the same thing.

I think we are on our own. I got a trial which magazine sub I will have a look and report back!

I have the same issue. I tried a silver spray can (Vanish?) and it was rubbish.
