Gosh, I so need to join in with this.

My kids are older than some of yours, but the house situation actually seems to have got worse rather than better.

Over the next week:

  • I really want to get on top of the paperwork which is really out of control
  • I want to declutter some big items (like the TV that hasn't worked since digital switchover!)
  • get a routine going for shopping, cooking, washing, cleaning and tidying

reading it back that sounds over ambitious!

My distracting children will be at home today so I will aim to:

  • hoover everywhere
  • wash-up and clean kitchen surfaces
  • spend half an hour clearing stuff from the front room that doesn't belong
CatsInChaos · 30/08/2012 07:58

Morning all, Welcome aboard Music , sounds like you will fit in well! Smile

I have an ongoing paperwork mountain --which started around 8 years ago-- Blush Thankfully a lot of it is hidden in drawers. What I am trying to do is do little bits here and there. It is going to take a while to get it all sorted but I feel I am making some progress!

I have a nearly 9 year old and a 3 year old. They are both very active so have been a handfull over summer. I do love them of course but some days are a real challenge! I have a variety of health problems which seem to come and go. Some days are better than others.

Yesterday I managed to tidy and hoover the living room --but it didn't take long for the DC to start untidying again--
I will have another go at the tidying today also need to tackle the kitchen (not too bad at the mo) and get some washing done. We have sun at the mo! Grin

Here is the link to this weeks Flylady zone For those who would like a go.

I probably won't do daily links to Flylady but I think you are all probably quite capable of finding the website. Wink

If you need any help, just ask. Smile

Hello, wondered if I could join you all? School resumes Tuesday. I have a 6yr old, 4yr old and I'm 15wks pregnant. I have let everything go over the summer what with playing with the kids and trying to cope with constant nausea, house work has been at the bottom of my list of priorities!

I have so much to do! Before Tuesday my main priority it sewing name labels onto all the new uniform.

Ds2 is 4 and starts in reception on Tuesday, so I have plenty of uninterrupted time to get things done. Just not sure where to start. I want to get.the house into really good order so on into an easy routine for when the baby arrives in the new year.

I think my bedroom will be the priority for Tuesday. It's been badly neglected. Loads of mess clutter. Clothes that don't fit and stuff to be ebayed or sold at carboot. I hope if I wake up to a lovely clean tidy room it may motivate me to tackle other parts of the house!!

Other than name labels need to return a parcel, pay a cheque in and buy some eggs to do some baking with the ds's.

CatsInChaos · 30/08/2012 10:25

Hi bumponboardagain, anyone can join! Smile

I have:
had breakfast (also fed DC and cat)
cleared a worktop in the kitchen
got dressed
and put one load of washing on.

Just gonna have a Brew now before I start anything else.

For the newcomers to this
What we did --before summer holiday CHAOS-- was start Flylady babysteps on the 1st day of the month but it's up to you how you do it.
I will try to link about babysteps in a mo.

Morning all!

So far I have:
washed and dressed
taken dcs to school
dusted and polished the living room
loaded the dw and put it on
loaded the wm and put it on
cleaned the worktops in the kitchen
hoovered downstairs

I have been fiddling around with beads since I did all that Grin

CatsInChaos · 30/08/2012 13:19

Hope I haven't scared everyone away! Shock

I have been tidying my living room again and for now it looks quite good. --The dining room looks quite cluttered though as I seem to have moved a lot of toys into there-- Blush

Not had the best day been stressing about the fact that my DS only feeds to sleep BUT the kitchen is clear and a load of washing is hung out (indoors) to dry. We have also ordered a carpet for DS's room so operation move out of our room can begin.

He is now asleep on me but DH has buggered off with the iPad so can't do a load of online stuff I need to do Sad

stephlib · 30/08/2012 15:05

Hi, back again. Everytime i say i'll make an effort to be more regular on here but....well i'm not gonna promise now lol.

Anyway today i have:

got everyone up, fed and washed
went to tesco and done the shop for the weekend
given both toilets a squirt down of harpic
hoovered downstairs
made lunch
put some washing in the machine

carrotsandcelery · 30/08/2012 15:07

I am about to collect ds and take him to get his hair cut. He hasn't had it cut for a very, very long time and it is like a very long mop. He wants to keep it long but it needs something done to it. I am really worried he ends up with a really dodgy haircut eg a mullet as it is called up here (maybe throughout I have no idea). I am hoping that the young girl doing it will be able to do something a bit more stylish with it.

I will report back later. Eeeek!

Housework wise I have put a goulash, which turned into a curry, into the slow cooker for later and decluttered a dog cage from the garage and a jewellery drawer as a sort of stock take.

Hi Joyfull he's nearly 7mo I'm not so bothered about the feeding to sleep at night but he does it for naps too. I'm back at work 4 days a week in December and he's going to have a combo of DH, IL's and nursery so I really need to get him into some sort of consistent routine. I hate routines! Blush

CatsInChaos · 30/08/2012 19:09

I need to go shopping in a mo --don't really feel like it-- I would rather stay in and watch telly but we need things like bread, milk etc.

CatsInChaos · 30/08/2012 19:19

Right if I go now I can slob out later! Wink

pinkhollie · 30/08/2012 20:02

I am going to go and clean the kitchen and time myself how long it takes. DW is already on so it's just the grill pan and surfaces. Ready steady go!

AdoraBell · 30/08/2012 23:24

Hello all, hello and welcome to bump, and congrats on the new bump

Not much achieved here other than my normal morning routine due to attending a funeral. Friend's elderly father who had lived a full and happy life. The last 6 months were not good, but the preceeding 92 years were, which is the main thing.

I still need to sort dinner and collect DD1 from a friend's house, joint study for a test. Then think about tomorrow's packed lunch. Laundry is done so I can give away the old bedding tomorrow.

Tomorrow I need to book carpet fitters, book dogs into kennels for our week away, and have a general clean up before the weekend.

Can't see it now, but someone was suggesting starting flying with sorting the main bedroom. Just wanted to say YY, give yourself a haven to sleep and wake up in. Makes a huge difference to me and my OH.

Oh well, DW calls, TTFN

Pekka · 31/08/2012 11:50

My household has descended into chaos yet again. DS is sleeping poorly so I am tired. But I don't want a messy house, so I will do 15 mins per room today and shine the sink :)

CatsInChaos · 31/08/2012 12:26

Hi all, How are you today?

I had a bit of an accident last night and fell down some stairs. Shock I am o.k. though just quite achey in places so I am not going to push myself too much.
Just having some lunch before I go sort some washing.

OP posts:
Cakebot · 31/08/2012 15:58

eek! Take care of yourself. I fell down the stairs a few months ago and it's surprisingly painful!
Havent really done anything today apart from put a wash on. Took DS to see Brave instead!
I will do my sink tonight again though. I need to get a wriggle on next week for labelling/hemming etc of school uniform and kit. Can someone tell me a good new school routine? I'm going to practice next week, althoughhe's only doing half days for 2 weeks so I've got plenty of time before 'proper' school!

AdoraBell · 31/08/2012 16:43

Cats

I hope you feel better soon, I know know that kind of pain.Rest as much as you can today, have a Brew and put your feet up.

Well, we had mayhem this morning

Just popping in to say hi and that I have been reading this thread and it has inspired me to fill up the dishwasher and put on a load if washing! Sorry I've been absent so much recently. I need the inspiration an help from places like this but then I end up spending too much time on MN and not getting on with work. I need a happy medium!
