Does anyone want to play a game of sorts in working out where things should go based on where other people keep things?

For starters, in our house teatowels sit on top of the microwave and have done since we moved in 2 years ago for want of knowing where to put them. Where do teatowels go?

In the tea towel draw.

I would like to know were big boxes of cereal go. They don't fit in the cupboard. Mine are dumped on top of the fridge

We only have three drawers in our kitchen - one is for tea towels, clung film, foil and all that jazz. What I want to know is, where should the wireless thermostat live?!

The kettle goes next to the toaster, obv.

Tea towels go in the "wiping stuff" box under the sink.
Big boxes of cereal are decanted into plastic "pouring" tubs that do fit in the cupboard, and any excess cereal is kept with the inner bag rolled over and pegged to keep it fresh.

How about the ironing board. Mine is stuffed down the side of the fridge

Ironing boards are flung out onto the pavement to the cry of 'I can't take it any more'. Obvs.

I don't have any spare drawers - maybe a basket of teatowels in a cupboard would be tidier? Do aprons go with teatowels? Ours (mine + DCs) are hanging on a cupboard hook all the time.

The big boxes of cereal in our house go on top of the cupboard with the teabags in it, next to the kettle. I think it would be better if there was space to have a cupboard with a shelf removed to make space for them though.

But what about the Hoover? According to MIL I'm MAD keeping mine in the spare room.

But I have carpets upstairs and downstairs!

Kettle goes on the surface, within reaching distance of the fridge, the tea bags, the mugs and the cupboard with the sugar.
Cereal cupboard is low down so DCs can sort out their own breakfast , with the bowls, side plates and toast toppers such as honey and marmite.

The Hoover goes in the cupboard under the stairs.

no wireless thermostat, but we do have wireless oil tank level, which lives in the futility room.

Hoover goes in garage.

Hoover is in the understairs cupboard that I made the builders put in as part of our extension I don't have an ironing board.
Tesco have cereal decanters for about £2.50.

GaryTankC that is what I mean, so many things that seem to be obvious for some people but not for others!

I thought everyone kept their hoover in the cupboard under the stairs. I think that is where ironing boards go too but in practice ours in the spare room most of the time.

Teatowels go in the teatowel basket on top of the freezer.
Big cereal packets get folded over at the top so that they do fit in the cupboard.
Hoover lives in the hall cupboard.
Ironing board goes down the side of the fridge.
Kettle is on the worktop alongside the little shelf that has the tea/sugar/coffee etc.

Ooh mawbroon tell me about your basket please. Would A4 size base work?

Where does the teaspoon go? Do people use a new one every time? Ours lives near the kettle somewhere on the worktop, in my last house it had a hook.
