how can I get mildew stains out of a pair of white curtains?

I've put them through a normal wash, but the stains remain

Can i bleach them by soaking?

Before going down the bleach route I'd soak in lemon juice and hang in the sun for a couple of days to see if the natural route works.

no lemons - stains are only on the bottom (from condensation) - shall I just dab some bleach on and see if it works? Would it ruin them?

Try soaking in napisan, it's great for getting marks out. My mil put me on to it when I though I'd ruined a pair of white trousers, napisan sorted it!
