black fingerprints (newsprint) on white upvc

and it will not come off. I have tried the usual flash sprays and Stardrops but they won't budge - any ideas please

White spirit?

Cream cleaner? Normally works a treat on PVC.

Nail polish remover?

You need something with a bit of grit in it. Cif or toothpaste.

I second nail polish remover. Great on PVC window/door frames

Won't acetone bugger the surface of pvc?

Nope, I had some sellotape sticky marks on it and it came off with no effort. Didn't harm it at all. (I think it was a Kim and Aggie tip....that actually worked!)

Have you tried a rubber, like for pencil?

I use pencil rubbers, followed by baby wipes.

Magic eraser block shifts just about anything off uPVC

Thanks for these tips. Where do I buy a magic eraser, it sounds like a handy thing to have.

It's made by JML, you can get it in Sainsburys now, also Homebase, probably other places. It's usually on a separate JML stand, in our Sainsburys it has all just appeared on an aisle end next to the kitchen utensils rather than in the cleaning aisle. Lookout for dayglo yellow packaging.

Poundland do them but not sure if as good. It will change your life.

Always fancied a magic eraser....might try the Poundland version as I'm a tight arse

I was in Wilkinson's today (glamorous) and they had them on the JML stand in there for about a fiver I think.
