I have half a day of ds at school and a couple of days grace before I start mt holidays properly with dc's. Why haven't you done it while he was still at school you ask? Well I made the most of last two weeks going out and generally having peace and quiet with 4 month old dd as I know I will get very little from now on.

So

Laundry x approx 6, have backlog due to muggy weather, towels etc, bedding.
Full house clean
Order tesco vouchers
Finish summer list

Done list ( more a you not a lazy sofa surfing cow after all)
Laundry x 2
Cleared up leak
Washed and dressed dc
Cooked breakfast for all three
Fed baby
School run

Random moan, dear weather I just wanted warm not blistering hot, I'm already sunburnt thanks.

By 1030

Spring cleaned master bedroom
Dust
Hoover
Clean windows
Stripped bed
Fold hideous pile of clean clothes into person piles
Tidy it's of clutter on bedside.

That'll do

Ooh, I'll join you. But for more than 2 days.

We started today, chucking out all clothes and shoes that no longer fit. Four bin bags later, I can now put the clothes that do fit into their wardrobes and drawers, and fit all their shoes into the boot cupboard.

Chucked out acres of old post and leaflets in hallway.
Hoovered kitchen, hallway, living & dining rooms, stairs, landing & DCs bedrooms.
Stripped our bed.
DCs tidied their rooms and made their beds bless them, until the rooms looked fine.
Polished DS1's very dusty room.

Tomorrow to do:

Kitchen - clear away toys, newspapers, gadgets, homework - the 1001 things that don't belong there but end up in the kitchen.
Mop floors downstairs
Mow lawn
Weed patio

Originalplurker · 23/07/2012 20:40

Hello racingheart

I sorted some piles of washing
Washed three loads
Fed and changed baby
Rst of day on meet up with other kids and parents = nothing done!

Think I'll be around for more than two days Smile

You sound like you've made a good start and been quite adept at decluttering wardrobes.

OP posts:
racingheart · 23/07/2012 23:29

They had to be decluttered. There was nowhere to put the clean clothes. Blush

I'm motivating myself by looking forward to doing some more fun jobs like stripping and repainting some old furniture, putting a fountain in the garden, hanging some pictures.

Sounds like you had a good balance between organising and having fun.

Originalplurker · 24/07/2012 08:04

racingheart yay to furniture stripping, are you doing art farty paint effects too? Grin

But the gardening jobs a bit scary! I can't seem to get out n weed my veg boxes that have no veg in them! Are you sure you get all this done today?

Need to have a big push today as having kids round tomorrow to play. We are out for two hours late morning 10 to 12 ish depends who is in costa! Then it's full steam ahead. So my list:

Coerce ds into tidying his room or no kids tomorrow, or wii later.
Master bedroom
Dust
Hoover
Windows
Fold hideous piles of clothes in bedroom, have newer clean ones from downstairs now.
Tidy clutter.

Dust Hoover windows ds room?

Later today - blitz all other rooms.
Off to feed dc's, not sure when we will all get washed and dressed, probably after jobs.

Oooh, can I join in on a 1 day mission? Got an estate agent coming at 2pm and a bombsite bit of a messy house Blush

I need to:
Tidy kitchen
Do the dishes
Tidy living room
All toys away shoved into cupboard
Tidy bathrooms
Clean shower tray
Clothes away off floor in bedroom
Clean washing away
Hoover everywhere

Oh... And get showered and dressed! Grin

I got everywhere clean at the weekend, so now it's mainly tidying. I HATE tidying up, give me a tidy house and I'll clean it happily, but just can't get motivated to actually put things away Smile

...have I got time for a brew before I start?

Originalplurker · 24/07/2012 10:03

Well I've dipped toe in water.

Washed and hung two loads of washing.
Spent ages looking for keys
Spent ages looking for suitable clothes to out in to park/costa

No work done, oh dear.Grin

OP posts:
Born2BRiiiled · 24/07/2012 10:07

Can I join? Although mine is a six week project.

So far-

Weeded front garden
Used a stiff handbrush on the stairs - am sneezing!
About to do clothes declutter

Originalplurker · 24/07/2012 10:11

Welcome rockchick

Yes I'm the same re tidying and cleaning.

We have an appalling amount really of clothes in various stages of the laundry system (ha whatever that is) all over bedrooms and kitchen.

I need to have a system of one wash a day to keep on top, but aye a designated laundry finishing day where it's ironed and put away. Im normally satisfied with my housekeeping, food shopping system.

Might as well add, that when I have a good habit of getting up in the morning earlier by half hour like fly lady says, I do much better.
One day I'll get the slow cookers put on.....

OP posts:
Originalplurker · 24/07/2012 10:14

welcome born

Oh weeding, best get your sunblock on!
A stiff brush on the stairs, now that's proper elbow greas style cleaning, I can remember doing that when I lived at home.

I'm sure I'll still be here th right holidays.

OP posts:
Originalplurker · 24/07/2012 10:18

Oh my MN god? If I have to hear ds say ~ "mom heres the moon" and so on when he is eating a babybel i shall have to buy the dairylea cheese triangles.

Right off to park for 45 min buggy walk. Let's see how this goes with ds in tow!

OP posts:
Originalplurker · 24/07/2012 15:01

How did the estate agent visit go?

Buggy walk went well with ds, nice to see him enjoying a walk in sun. So exercise done but costa was also done done Blush

Fed dd and ds
Sorted out several large trofast toy storage boxes in ds room, he won't part with anything! Ds has been quite good helping and stripped his bed.

Right off to clean Hmm

Born2BRiiiled · 24/07/2012 17:00

Clothes sorting well underway. Big piles everywhere, and vacuum bagging done. Also viakaled the sinks. On. A. Roll!

Originalplurker · 24/07/2012 17:36

Oh yes you are on a roll!

Lest just say Im like a square wheel trying to roll today. I can't take this heat. I burn, I am a bit burnt.

It's turning out to be a day of two halves. Ds lost his hearing this afternoon, I've shouted, used the word bloody and all my windows are open Blush dd has screamed and would not be out down to go to sleep.

We have had a power cut throughout this.

Dd fed asleep
Ds tidied up and is playing quietly
Washing on line outside, new wash in
Fish fingers and waffles in oven.

I can't get anything done for feeding and laundry.
Well ds room is tidy, all in correct boxes. Bedding out to dry already.

Feel better now I can affirm ^ that I have made progress today. I will be sooooo happy to just clean clean clean.

OP posts:
racingheart · 24/07/2012 18:52

I didn't get into the garden at all, except to put the guinea pigs out. DC and their friends were having a massive water fight out there all day long.

But I did tidy and declutter the kitchen and dining room and knot 100 water bombs for DC as well as taking them swimming in a lido this morning and going to watch the Olympic flame, so not a bad day but not the best on organising the house!

racingheart · 24/07/2012 18:53

Just seen your post about your DC and your sunburn, OP. You deserve an ice cold drink now and a sit down.

Originalplurker · 24/07/2012 21:50

racingheart it's not so bad when you can see that you've done other stuff especially if itsmformyour dc's and they had good time!

Im on the vino right now. DH has said/asked if the house will be tidy by the weekend.ive told him to watch his mouth. Oh dear.

But I'd did get both dc bathed and in bed by 7 and 8pm.

I keep tidying and moving laundry around but there isn't one room that's done and sparkling. OM!MN hope it's not this hot tomorrow. I can't stand it.

OP posts:
Born2BRiiiled · 24/07/2012 22:22

Ebaying stuff tomorrow, and buying a few DIY supplies! Will also sort out one or two kitchen cupboards.

Originalplurker · 24/07/2012 22:31

OP posts:
Rockchick1984 · 24/07/2012 23:18

Well, today was the first time I've ever posted a list on one of these threads and actually completed everything on it Grin Grin Grin

2kidsintow · 24/07/2012 23:55

Mine is another 6 week project here. Small jobs fitted around the general keep-the-kids-happy days.

Yesterday. Nothing apart from the day to day business of dishwasher/hoover etc. Did potter around and filled 2 bin bags of rubbish too.

Today.

Tackled eldest DDs inbuilt cupboard. Bottom of it was full of outgrown clothes. We had been keeping them for DD2, but they like to wear completely different things and I've learnt by now what keeps well in the loft. 2 bags for the charity filled.

2 more bin bags of rubbish filled by generally tidying of DD2s room.

Need to tackle her shelves really, but she is very protective of her paperwork and all her stories/scripts/songs/notes etc she has ever written.

Also need to tackle DD2s cupboard and shoe storage.

Needstotidyup · 25/07/2012 07:46

I bought a notepad to organise myself and write lists of jobs I need to do.....

Originalplurker · 25/07/2012 07:47

Wey hey rockchick have some Thanks and a Brew

Welcome 2kidsintow yes a six week realisation here too. I found that ds(6) very protective of drawings and paper wotsits (I cant tell what any of them are)

Well I'm pleased I don't have to got out today in sun except a quick pop to corner shop. I have been up for one hour. After having the afternoon from hell yesterday I'm determined to get on top of my game.

Already done so far
Laundry in
Dishwasher on
Benches wiped
Rubbish and recycling out

Kids will be up soon for breakfast.

Must dust and Hoover ds bedroom, the pain from tidying and repatriating many things into the correct box over.

Fold clean clothes in kitchen

We have two kids coming later today (slaps self on brow) grrrrr.
