Aaargh I've accidently defrosted my freezer. What can I salvage?

I accidently left the door slightly ajar and have now found my freezer has started to defrost.

It was approx 24 hours and the temp dropped to approx -3 degrees.

My meat drawer seems to be fine as the meat is all hard with no squashy bits.

The rest of the food in there was bread and veg, no meals or anything as I'm not that organised. These had definitely defrosted - am I ok just to refreeze them? Or should I throw them out? WWYD?

Personally I'd be happy to re freeze bread. I'd cook the veggies into something and then freeze that too (soups various, curry, pasta sauce etc). No losses then and ready meals for sometime to come!

I'd also not leave the meat long before cooking and eating or cooking and re freezing cooked food- so you may want to say thaw the chicken and use it with bag of spinach to make a fantastic curry etc

Thanks for that. It's too late for the veg as I've refrozen them in a panic - much more sensible to do as you suggested. I will remember next time I do this.
You are right about not leaving it too long before using the meat. We are having chicken tonight and tomorrow and the next day....
If only I'd remembered you could cook and refrreeze. Nevermind, again I will think on next time.
RIP fish fingers and ice cream though. They could never be saved!
