Come inside and settle down on the sofa.

Thanks Cats. I am really anxious as the depute head is sitting in too. I think they are worried that I am going to "kick off" about his previous treatment, which I am not. I just want to ensure the good treatment he has this year continues. Yikes!

I am trying to hide loose myself in MNet. Having a high anxiety day today so not feeling great! Sad The kids keep playing up too so that doesn't help.
Maybe I will relax a bit once DH is home to help out.

AdoraBell · 23/05/2012 16:45

Hello, can I come in?

cats. Can you do breathing excercise to help calm down? I've had anxiety problems in the past, you have my sympathy.

How about looking on YouTube for something to make you laugh. Do you have any music that helps? I have a Kenny G cd, Greatest hits I think, that really helps me calm down and slow down. Even works on the DDs, kinda stealth relaxationGrin I know some classical music is especially relaxing but don't know which pieces, so I cheat and listen to Il Divo.

I'm currently putting off sorting the fridge, but I have to do it before I go shopping. Gotta get back to Pilates, school holiday is three months here and they've been back in school since March, so I've been not excercising for 5 months. Oops, didn't realise it was that longBlush

CatswithAnxiety · 23/05/2012 16:52

I'm off to the kitchen --to escape-- to cook dinner. DH is home now so will hopefully take the pressure off a bit!

Might have a look at you tube later. Thanks AdoraBell Thanks

Country Parks are great places for Toddlers. Fab day outside. Cooling off a bit now (not the temperatures, just us) and think Toddler will have a cold dinner tonight (he doesn't deal well with being hot and he doesn't eat when he is hot) and might have an indoor picnic (kitchen gets afternoon sun so cooks a bit in there). Looking forward to his bedtime so I look at all of the hundreds tens of pictures I took today.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 23/05/2012 19:01

We have potty training success at last!! YAY!! Grin She did a number 2 after lots of flapping and panicking. Grin Grin

Scout19075 · 23/05/2012 19:32

YAY for Kitten!

carrotsandcelery · 23/05/2012 20:03

That's great news. Yay for little kitten! Yay for Cats. Yay! Yay! Yay!

It is fluctuating between 28C and 30C it seems today in our village. Phew! We had to go to the next village and it was only 24C. How can the temperature change so much in such a short distance.

We have had the sprinkler on the garden for the dcs to run through in their swimsuits. I have also given Twilight a quick shower as she is really struggling. Pup is quite happy but he has much shorter, thinner hair. I am really tempted just to cut off as much of her fur as I can, no matter what she ends up looking like. Poor old girl!

I've just finished uploading pictures. I took a ridiculous amount in a short time. Blush

carrotsandcelery · 23/05/2012 20:10

I have done the same just in the back garden Scout. It is too tempting. I hope you had a great day.

The BBC news pages aren't recording the temperatures we had today as being so high. Their nearest weather station is a few miles from us though.

Our meeting went really well. No hostility. Just friendly faces all trying hard to support ds. Smile

OP posts:
CatsSleepAnywhere · 23/05/2012 20:26

Glad the meeting went well carrots Grin

the potty training success was short lived cause she did some more poo in her nappy at bedtime. Just hope we are starting to move in the right direction though.

I think I will be off for an early night today as I'm feeling quite tired.

Scout19075 · 23/05/2012 20:50

I think I'm going to watch The Apprentice then take a shower then go to bed.

I'm trying to find some more books as well but am not finding the website I'm on very user friendly. Sad

Just heard some thumps coming from upstairs and Toddler had shifted and dropped his books onto the floor. He was stirring when I went up but still asleep.

bessie26 · 23/05/2012 20:58

Yay for kitten!! Grin Bet she was very proud of herself? I remember we had to phone all the GPs when DD1 did her first poo on the potty!

Scout19075 · 23/05/2012 21:00

Yay for carrots school meeting. Fingers crossed for a smooth transition.

Boo for Kitten's poo. But, like FlyLady, baby steps.

carrotsandcelery · 23/05/2012 21:14

bessie Grin The things my poor parents have had to discuss on the phone with my dcs Grin

Cats she has made a start. It will come now. As Scout says, babysteps!

My house is an absolute tip. It is still way too warm in our house to do any running around. I was hoping it would have cooled by now. I am really tempted to go and read my book in the garden until it is dark. We have a stunning orange sunset just now.

Scout19075 · 23/05/2012 22:30

I wish our "TV" upstairs worked -- I'd so be in bed to finish watching L&O. I want to go to bed but I want to see who did it.

carrotsandcelery · 23/05/2012 22:57

I am avoiding my bed Scout as I am pretty sure I won't sleep. I will take a fan through though to keep it cooler as I drop off.

Morning everyone Smile

Bust day for me today, I plan to actually make a start on some of the longer term jobs, namely the panning on where we are going to put DC3 when he/she arrives.

ATM its a toss up between losing the dining room to DP's giant desk Angry or some how change our room around to fit a cot in with it, this is all to keep us ticking over until new baby is big enough to need its own room. Confused

Scout19075 · 24/05/2012 07:33

I think it's going to be one of those days with Toddler -- ARGH!

CamperWidow · 24/05/2012 08:18

I'll second that Scout I think our two are linked somehow!!! Today is one of her favourites, we go to a playgroup at the Church in town and she gets to ring the bells and blow out candles and play instruments. However, she has been a madam from the second she got up, despite threats not to go. She has always got down to the last second to do something. She doesn't deal with the heat well either, takes after me, so we're both abit grumpy in this heat.
Anyhoo, gotta keep smiling. I've got a blood pressure check today and she is going through a thing about drs and how the body works and things, so I'm hoping the nurse will let her see what she does.
No list yet, gotta go and get the bus!!!!! See you later!

Scout19075 · 24/05/2012 08:22

Oh yes, I've had whining as my background soundtrack ALL MORNING. ARGH!!!

educatingarti · 24/05/2012 09:32

Morning all. I had a bit of a pear shaped day yesterday ( not helped by a 5 minute, pick up repeat prescriptions job taking about an hour!). I didn't get enough work done really. So I'm aiming to get a bit more sorted today!

Camper and Scout - I hope your toddler day cheers up soon.

Squash - woohoo for bust day! Could you persuade your dp to have a sensible smaller sized desk? Would that help?

carrotsandcelery · 24/05/2012 09:37

Morning all!

We are struggling with the heat here too. 20C would be fine but it is already about 23 and rising. I have fans on everywhere and am trying the AC unit again. I am a serious grumpy pants in the heat. Ds look like he is the same. Eeeek!

My housework at night scheme didn't work as I couldn't sleep because of it. I ended up getting up and doing more at 1.30am. I got up early this morning and did the big things then before it got too hot. Fingers crossed this plan will work!

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 24/05/2012 09:50

I'm not finding it particularly hot but I'm used to much more severe temperatures and humidity. However, I know for England it's hot and the houses aren't equipped to deal with it. That's what frustrates me the most -- the lack of house ability to deal with sun/warm weather.

Another package arrived today. I love packages!

Also had a letter from one of the hospitals asking me to ring to schedule my MRI. Keep in mind my hospital has already sent me a booked appointment for an MRI (for next week). I mean, really! MRIs seem to be like buses....

carrotsandcelery · 24/05/2012 09:53

A lot of people here are either from warmer climes or have lived in warmer climes and they are loving the hot weather. They are moaning though that our houses aren't equipped for the heat and we have no AC and shutters etc which make normal functioning possible as well.

I suppose it is not considered worth it for the 5 or 10 days a year we generally get where the heat is so extreme.
