DS seems to be much better now and wants to build a train track. DD is also trying to "help" him but mostly complaining about everything Hmm.

I have done 1 x washing and hoovered the living room. I feel that might be my limit today. --would really like a nap but have to look after the DC--

bored

liveinazoo · 20/06/2012 15:25

little zoo has a lurgy rash and is being little madam

ds woke start of a wheeze adn dp wen tto see him get a proudgram in assembly and he came hiome with him as wheezing is worseningSad

doctor has just rang back and we are booked in for a 4.30 emergency appointment

im hoping its not another case of steriods adn inhalers-we were warned a second wheezing incident could see him labelled asthmatic

CatsSleepAnywhere · 20/06/2012 16:05

Oh dear zoo Wishing you all "get well vibes"

I have come to MNet to "escape" --the madness-- The only problem is "there is no escape Sad. DD has followed me and is now on my lap.
I have had enough! I wonder how I will survive the 6 weeks holiday without going completely insane off the rails. I have to keep going for the next hour then DH will come home.

I take my hat off to any single parents out there. I really don't know how you do it!

The DC have driven me to tears.

They just can't play nicely together! Everything they try to do together end up with them fighting/bickering. Sad

carrotsandcelery · 20/06/2012 16:54

We have arrived at a friends only to discover her ds is ill. I wish she had said. Ds is now playing with him.
Poor you zoo. That sounds a handful.
I too take my hat off to parents who go it alone. A few days is one thing but day in day out is quite another.
I hope you are ok cats. Tired and ill with bixkering dcs is not fun.
Sometimes in long hols the dcs start to settle into each other and play better. Your ds will probably play out more too. I do know what you mean tho. I may have same issues here too.

Another VW girl here. I used to have a mk1 golf cabriolet, then a polo. I now have another golf & DH has a Passat, although we are always swapping.

Hope everyone & their DC are ok.

Scout19075 · 20/06/2012 19:58

Spent six (yes, six!) hours outside making fires, cooking out-of-doors and running around today. We're exhausted.

carrotsandcelery · 20/06/2012 20:38

Please tell me this was a Seniors event Scout! Shock

I have just about got dd to finish her homework project for school tomorrow. She is keen but it takes her FOREVER to do so little! Shock

I sent ds to bed and forgot I had washed his sheets. Blush We had a laugh putting them back on though Grin

If dh was here he could have handled one task while I handled the other. I have got there just about though.

My Seniors are all busy with GCSEs (though we're outdoor cooking with fires next week at our meeting). Today was HE friends. I don't think we planned on being so long/late but the weather was perfect, the kids (school-aged and preschool aged) were having a ball running around in the tall grasses and trees and us adults were having lots of tea and good/interesting chats that the time ran away.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 20/06/2012 22:05

--sad I know-- Grin

DS has got hair visitors Shock!!!!Sad I have been bathing and wet coming the DC for a good hour or so. Just sat down after showering myself too. The DC are now asleep in bed Wink

carrotsandcelery · 20/06/2012 22:33

Oh no Cats. We were given the oil that suffocates them by the pharmacist. I totally soaked dd's hair in the stuff (drenched it) and left it the required time and that was the end of it. It was not a pleasant experience though. You have my sympathy.

I am told that nitty gritty combs are the best and that continual combing is very effective.

Scout that sounds like a lovely day. I hope you enjoyed it.

I have been on a jewellery making roll today. I finished the complicated bracelet for ds's teacher and made 3 more that are needed as thank you gifts at the end of term.

My eyes are tired now but I enjoyed it. Grin

And I made a bumblebee brooch/badge as well with beads and wire. Grin

Yes, it was a lovely day and much joy was had. Today it is grey and raining (and raining hard, I might add).

Today, however, is swimming day -- YAY!

I am not well, though. I want to crawl back to bed and sleep.

bessie26 · 21/06/2012 07:49

Lots of rain here too.

Noticed this steam mop deal on groupon this morning - haven't investigated properly, so don't know if it's any good.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 21/06/2012 09:32

Morning all, Feeling a little tired but o.k. here. We have rain and I think the olympic torch comes to the lakes today --not near enough for us to see it--

I am hoping to get my car fixed soon so I won't have to walk everywhere. We were looking into how much the train would cost for us to go south for our "holiday" and it is around £126 return for each adult Shock so if we did it that way we could be looking at £250 for us all. Shock It may well work out cheaper to get the car fixed and pay for petrol!

I am hoping I might get some cleaning tidying done today. I may need to visit FlyLady for inspiration!

If anyone can PM me the name of a good nit treatment it would be apreaciated!(sp?) for the DC Thanks

carrotsandcelery · 21/06/2012 11:18

Cats I think the one we used was full marks solution. It was oil based and suffocated them anyway. It did the trick no problem. Ours was free from our Chemist but I think that system is different in Scotland as all our prescriptions are free too.

I feel rotten

Oh dear Scout - Poor you! That anti bac spray clearly wasn't effective.

Scout19075 · 21/06/2012 16:02

I took a nap instead of flying. Blush I hope Toddler goes to bed easily even though he stayed in bed instead of coming to find me.

Scout19075 · 21/06/2012 16:38

Has anyone found my motivation?

carrotsandcelery · 21/06/2012 17:09

Scout I think I saw it sneeking out the door with mine. They have gone off backpacking round SE Asia for the summer Shock

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 21/06/2012 17:18

I have done nothing. Blush

bessie26 · 21/06/2012 19:59

hello!!!

carrotsandcelery · 21/06/2012 20:02

Scout if you are not well I don't think you should be expected to do anything.

I have done my basic jobs, just no extras.

Ds had a great time with his friend tonight. My heart was aching for him though. His friend is having a birthday sleepover tomorrow night and didn't invite him. He told him he forgot about him Sad Ds took it fine but I felt so sad for him.
