arti, MrScout is VERY attached to his clutter. I have to do a slowly slowly approach to things. Nothing can ever be seen leaving the house (but leave it does!). Right now he's playing "teddies" with Toddler (TS has a set of teddy bear counters/sorters six colors in three sizes and a balancing scale and an oversized pair of tweezers and all together provide loads of entertainment and learning through play). To be honest I'd rather my boys be together since most of the time they don't get to see each other.

educatingarti · 04/06/2012 10:12

Scout - Has Mr Scout seen "The Hoarder Next Door " series on TV? Wink

Seriously I'm glad your boys are enjoying playing ( in a mathematicky kind of way!). I know hte kind of teddies you mean.

Scout19075 · 04/06/2012 10:15

No, he hasn't. I don't think he'd get that bad because he does have the very occasional bouts of decluttering himself.

I love Toddler loves his teddies. MrScout was very Hmm when I bought them in the States last year but he's seen the value of them.

educatingarti · 04/06/2012 11:04

Scout it might give3 him a fright food for thought though and get him being a bit less of a hoarder! !

carrotsandcelery · 04/06/2012 13:03

We have had a very "interesting" experience trying to make green, then black meringues. We now have grey "soup" baking in the oven in muffin cases as I wasn't convinced they would hold. The girls seem excited about them though so I will leave them to it.

Scout why not have a flyholiday? I had one last week, well, I went on flystrike really, and feel much more up to the challenge now that I have had a little break. If you dh is home I would enjoy the opportunity to be together as he works long hours and often isn't home.

Arti I am glad you liked the hotpot. I love it. I think it was from an Australian Woman's Weekly Vegetarian cook book.

carrots, that's a good way to describe it -- a flyholiday. I do need to keep ticking over, though. Little things like emptying the diaper pail, etc.

We had a lazy start to the morning then went into town this morning for elevenses. Toddler's having a nap then we're going to go get some lunch.

liveinazoo · 04/06/2012 14:14

hi everyone

i feel the need for chocolate, and lots of it

bessie26 · 04/06/2012 14:40

carrots why green/black meringues?

I have just mopped the kitchen & utility floors. Then came online to order a steam mop & the one I want is out of stock I have ordered it anyway in the hope that it will be back in stock soon, but I WANT IT NOW!

Had better go wake the DDs up.

carrotsandcelery · 04/06/2012 14:42

Black meringues because it was the only colour of food colouring that we had left after mad jubilee coloured foods over the early part of the weekend. They all went in the bin in the end as it congealed in the middle as a dark greeny black and looked like something that no child needed to eat. Shock

Does anyone know anything about food colouring that doesn't leave a taint or weird flavour in foods? I know you can buy better colourings but I know nothing about them.

I have acquired another child now (3 extra on top of my own 2 now). Tell me AIBU to be Shock at the brass neck of a mum who phoned to see if my dd was around after slagging my dd off on fb a few months ago? It is not the girl's fault so I agreed to it but I would never have dared myself.

They are all playing outside for now so it is not too bad so far... time will tell!

Oh no! Just discovered I have a black thumb. I hope it is not like the black spot in Treasure Island. I will say my farewells just in case Grin

Hi bessie! When it does arrive let me know what you think. I am intrigued and half tempted.

OK - I've had enough! Off for a sleep before I go out this evening!

carrotsandcelery · 04/06/2012 16:12

It's just as well I made that huge lasagne as I have extra bodies for tea. The girls have to have theirs really early as they are going to yet another Jubilee event this evening. Grin

They have played happily in the garden and then with my pots of beads so they have been brilliant guests.

The only problem is that now I want my lasagne too and it is only quarter past four Hmm

liveinazoo · 04/06/2012 17:03

what do you "fill" your lasagne wth carrots?

i have just realised my attempts to tidy have resulted in a half house blessingGrin
sadly its mainly upper house so anyone coming in would still think we live in a bear pit unless directed them upstairs!haha

i am now reach point where i would love view inside of my eyelids for a while

i am gong to start dinner shortly-balck eye bean and mushroom stew.hope its nice!

liveinazoo · 04/06/2012 17:04

sorry-that should be going not gong and black eye not balck eye...tiredness is the sending my limited brain capacity into a tizz!

liveinazoo · 04/06/2012 17:05

carrots have i missed a recipeShock?

AdoraBell · 04/06/2012 17:56

Hi all

Zoo I really hope everyone feels better quickly, have you managed to schedule a nap?

Carrots

One of mine, aged 10, has been in love with the same boy for three years. He's a classmate so same age-ish and he's told his mum it's 96% certain that they'll get married. I am seriously worried. Schools here don't teach about contraceptives, too Cathoilic for that, so I'm constantly explaining about condoms and contemplating having a private chat with her Dr.

Anyway, while the puppies are snoozing I'm going to list my Ta Da's on the other thread

carrotsandcelery · 04/06/2012 18:01

Well zoo, i am so tired i didnt see the spelling errors anyway. I am on my phone as ds has taken over my laptop so i will li.k later although i think you have seen it before.
Lasagnes get filled with whatever is in the veg drawer. Today was red onion, 4 peppers, carrots and celery Grin and tomatoo. Phone insists i write tomatoo . I have no idea how to stop it. Grin

bessie26 · 04/06/2012 20:49

caroots I saw this and thought of you (although I may be getting confused with lego & playmobile)

carrotsandcelery · 04/06/2012 22:16

Grin bessie. It was Playmobil that I spent weeks sorting. We have all the Lego in one big box. When ds gets a set he makes it using the instructions and plays with it. Then it gets put in the big box and he uses all the pieces to make his own weird and wonderful creations.

I have just decluttered and tidied up one of my beading drawers.

Then I made a bracelet.

Now I am trying to decide what to do next. So many people I know have birthdays in May and June and now they seem to expect me to make them something. I don't have enough variety of skills to keep it all different.

I am also thinking of making things for the teachers and guide leaders etc at the end of term. Pressure!

Went into town for the beacon lighting thing. Very sad that there were, at most, 200 people in the market square for it. It was a lovely little (prayer) service which I didn't know they were doing so missed most of it. Shame it had to be ruined by a bunch of drunken underage-- yahoos.

bessie26 · 04/06/2012 22:33

carrots how come the the Playmobile is kept separate & the lego is all together? Confused

carrotsandcelery · 04/06/2012 22:34

I am a contrary kind of girl Grin

And it is harder to play with playmobil if it is muddled and more fun to play with Lego if it is muddled iykwim.

carrotsandcelery · 04/06/2012 22:36

Shame about the beacon thing Scout.

Our school had lots of lovely jubilee pictures strung up along the fence and I noticed tonight that a lot have gone. I don't know if parents/kids have pulled off their own or if the weather has taken its toll or if something more unpleasant is going on.

I have found an app so I am downloading it now. I will report back about it when I have it sorted out.

Morning all, I am enjoying some "alone time" --but would rather be asleep--
DD disturbed at 4.00am so that woke me up. She is now gone back to sleep Hmm

Sitting here looking at all the mess/clutter but don't quite feel ready to tackle it just yet. Need to get some breakfast --or sleep Think I might go and watch some telly before the DC get up and take over the telly-- Wink

Might catch y'all later!
