Have you paid to have your oven cleaned? Was it expensive?

My oven needs a good clean, more than I can manage with a can of Mr Muscle and elbow grease, its way beyond that point.

Its a double oven, been quoted £75 by one guy, is that the going rate? I'm up north, not London or SE FWIW. Thanks.

It's worth it, believe me Smile

I've paid around £50 for a single oven so £75 for a double sounds fair (also up north)

I paid just over £100 for a range type oven so that sounds reasonable.

Well worth it Grin.

Worth every penny. Just had our single oven done by OvenU (nationwide franchise). Cost more than I've paid before but the woman who did it was amazing. She dismantled the whole thing ... claims to get it back to showroom standard and it really is (minging before).

I used to keep my oven nice and clean but since I had the youngest its just become the thing I never get around to doing and it really is shameful now. £75 does feel like a lot but then again a really clean oven would be lovely.
Just phone Kitchen Rescue and they quote £55 for a double oven so might go with them instead of Ovenu. Anybody used them? Only in Yorkshire though I think.

I used one local to me last time (Lancashire) - have previously used OvenU, & local one was just as good (& cheaper). They all use the same stuff

I might try the local one then, its £20 cheaper which is quite a lot really. Its just such a state and after my DH attempted some cooking the top oven smokes whenever its turned on, DH swears blind he didn't do anything to cause it though Hmm !
