Miele Cat & Dog - still good if you don't have pets?

I want a Miele hoover that is great on carpets. We don't have pets, so no pet hair on carpet, but does that fact that the Cat & Dog is so good at picking up pet hair mean that it's going to be the best at picking up other stuff from carpet too? I was going to go for the S5281 but suddenly wondered if the Cat & Dog was better at carpet fluff. TIA.

I have one, no pets (well fish but they are remarkably hair-free!!)_...it's great for everything but I think the Miele solution HEPA xxxx(numbers I can't remember) came out better if you have carpets and hard floors

I have one and no pets anymore
it does have amazing suction , have had dyson and henry before and it's stronger than those.
No idea about comparison to other miele.

Aha, that's very interesting, foolonthehill, as the Hepa one was my other choice!
