Hi, staying in rented and the previous temnant smoked, against her tenancy agreement. So I have a stinky house- I have aired but still smells.
How do I rid the smell?
Is it safe for my 2 small dc's?
Can't get the landlord on it (as that is my mum!)

Well you can ask her to get the carpets cleaned!

Or hire a carpet cleaner and do it yourself. Take the curtains down and wash them. And if the house is furnished then the sofa will need to be cleaned and the hard furniture all needs to be washed and polished. Depending on how heavy the smoking was you might need to wash down the ceiling and walls too. Even if they are not yellow , there will still be residue.

Lots of airing out as well. It won't harm your DC like smoking around them will, but they will benefit from the house being well cleaned and fresh.

Keep the windows open every chance.

Febreeze on things like sofas might help?
