Got white Egyptian cotton 300 thread count super kingsize duvet cover + 2 pillowcases for £29.99 (rrp £120) and two 400 thread count super king fitted sheets for £16.99 each (rrp £60 each).

Bargaintastic! Am well chuffed. Thank you.

It certainly wasn't me as I feel a bit of a fraud on this bored being neither good or a housekeeper, but I agree entirely. TX Maxx rocks for bed linen and towels.

Yawner247 · 03/04/2012 22:01

Grin I was one of many....Grin although my local tk max has had no decent super king size linen in ages!!!

BobblyGussets · 03/04/2012 22:01

Does it feel extra lovely Bibbity? I have been considering investing in a 600 tc set from costco and want to know if you can tell the difference to normal cotton.

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 03/04/2012 22:03

Good thread! Have got some to max vouchers and I find shopping there for clothes a nightmare as it us like a jumble sale! Would desperately live some nice bedding and towels though! Top tip! GrinGrinGrin

SwedishEdith · 03/04/2012 22:04

Do they match though? Grin

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 03/04/2012 22:04

Ffs, my phone is auto-correcting like crazy. Ignore my previous nonsensical thread! Blush

SwedishEdith · 03/04/2012 22:05

Nooooooooooooo, TK Maxx is rubbish for bed linen and towels realhousewife

bibbityisaporker · 03/04/2012 22:27

Ooops, sorry for spreading the word further Swedish Blush.

I haven't slept on the sheets yet Bobbly, got to wash them first and get them dry somehow in all the rain that's forecast. Wish I'd bought them last week now!

Hmmm.... Hopefully I won't clear out your local branch of bedding and towels!Grin. My house only holds so many beds and people that need to dry themselves!! Grin

SlightlyJaded · 03/04/2012 23:26

Bobbly yes yes yes thread count matters. I scrimp on all sorts of things but good quality bed linen is worth every penny have actually been banging on about thread counts on MN for ages but nobody will listen

TK Maxx and John Lewis sale. Both brilliant.

Rainydayagain · 04/04/2012 20:12

I agree its worth every penny, feels nicer and washes better for longer.

Hotel quality is best, thick like paper. Or if you can find it vintage cotton, amazing.

thekidsrule · 06/04/2012 00:28

i have vintage cotton

in my case ive had the same sheets for years, lol

but they feel sooooooooo soft must be all the washing theyve had, their my favourites though getting a bit thin

Tranquilidade · 06/04/2012 00:36

I got a fabulous Dorma super king duvet cover and 2 housewife pillow cases in our tkmaxx. Bragged to SIL about my ace bargain but said it was a shame they didn't have oxford pillowcases, she found them in their tkmaxx later that week then we found a sheet in Boundary Mill. Bargain all round!

Figarello · 06/04/2012 00:50

I was probably one of the many Bibbity Smile TK Maxx is brilliant for most homeware, but especially bedlinen. it's getting to be one of my bad habits...after all, just how many sheets do I really need?!

shodatin · 06/04/2012 13:16

Would one of you experts please inform me about vintage sheets recently purchased from Oxfam, the only identification is tiny label SX T3 and a line of red stitching on side hems, they are beautifully soft but am uncertain whether cotton or linen (also uncertain about buying any more). Can anyone help please?

Rainydayagain · 07/04/2012 19:37

Sounds like hotel sheets, my mum has some with red stitching like that. Not vintage but good quality.

shodatin · 07/04/2012 21:44

Thanks for info, Rainydayagain, I just knew someone here would have similar in the family, and have found that "hotel" is a quality, not confined to hotels, so might buy some more .
