Any ideas on how to get dust off the curtains. What should I use?
I also have some net type curtains in the ensuite. I can't remember name of material but it's floaty, frays easily.

In the kitchen how do you get smells out of curtains. I have tried fe breeze but it soon wear off.

Thanks

I hoover mine using a cylinder vac on a low setting, haven't got any nets though, is it voile? I would think you could wash that on a gentle cycle safety pinned into a pillow cas

I was also going to suggest vacuuming the curtains.

Ours has a special attachment for fabric.

and yes, I would wash the voile/net type curtains.

I bought new bedroom curtains -which I then promptly got eyeliner on!! The care label said to dry clean only, but I just washed on a low heat - and they were okay. (the eyeliner is still there tho!)

I would either hoover them, or go all last century and hang them on the washing line and beat them with a tennis racket - they get a good airing that way too.

I would hand wash the nets/voils although agree they will most likely be fine on a gentle wash.

And I think you have to wash the curtains to get rid of the kitchen smells. I also machine wash all of my dry clean only curtains and have had no problems. If you think they are too delicate to go in the machine you could run a steam cleaner over them (only if you have one, if you will have to pay to hire one then I would just pay to have them dry cleaned).

I use a clothes brush to get the dust off mine.

Net curtains can go in a laundry bag something like this one

I'd also wash the kitchen curtains to get the smells out.

you could also put them in a tumble drier, set to low heat, to get the dust out and freshen them.

What's the reason you don't want to wash them?
