ds sprayed a mix of vinegar and water on the screen (was 'helping' me clean) and there are now black marks on the screen. is it ruined for good or is there a trick i can use to get rid of them?

You could try a specialist LCD cleaner? We have one like this to gently clean our TV and monitor.

Computer screen wipes for LCD screens should do it.
