Is there any way I can fix the dye on this skirt?

I bought a gorgeous Uttam skirt from a charity shop. Its a lovely deep greeny/blue colour with embroidered flowers on.

Anyway I hand-washed it in cold water as it said on the label and so much dye came out! When it was drip-drying I gave it another wring and my hands are now a lovely shade of blue/green too Hmm.

So is there any way of fixing the dye? (or getting the dye out of my hands for that matter!)

if you soak it in a LOT of salt that should fix it, & good old fashioned bleach for your hands followed by lots of hand cream :) Good Luck!

aah yes salt! I remember now adding it to clothes I've dyed in the past. I'll give it a go.

Its a really lovely skirt so I'd love to be able to wear it. I bet someone got rid of it after sitting on a cream sofa and leaving a massive bluey/green mark.

Agree about the salt, then wash as little as possible...
