How do you get rid of the smell of fresh-sawn pine from a linen cupboard?

DH has now put together a linen cupboard for me, but since the slats are all newly cut there is a distinct smell of sawn wood around them. I'd rather my towels etc. did not pick up the smell. Any ideas?
